Happy birthday to two Johns - who couldn't have been more different stylistically, musically and politically - both of whom are no longer with us and are the foundation of my record collection and everything that came after them.

I was at the Giants game on Friday night. Someone actually paid the $150 to wish John Lennon a happy birthday on the scoreboard.
