I think I know who your favorite FB commenter is :P
You and I both requested Lisa Stansfield, albeit different songs.

Michael Hutchence's accent is at its best on "Bitter Tears." VHM.

Probably one of my top 5 favorite INXS songs. Didn't really get a fair shake top 40-wise.
-
BOS Dee-Lite, frequent flier tho' it may be.

Not that I'd want to hear anything else by them. ("Power of Love," anyone?) BOS1 to the de-lovely and delicious Lady Miss Kier.
-
A Madchester moment! BOS2 (and Best of Week candidate) to the Charlatans U.K., "The Only One I Know."

BOS2 Christian Slater. Loved that movie.
-
Loved Pump Up the Volume at the time, though I haven't seen it in, I suppose, 20 years.
-
But I didn't realize "been there, done that" was an operative phrase back then. WOS to this vaguely T-Headsish thing that says it.
-
Oddly, I never saw "Pump Up The Volume" until December 2009. Great movie. Also appreciated Slater's roles in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Office". Career rebirth?
-
VHM Mr Simon.
-
BOS1 to the Charlatans UK.
BOS2 to this "Been There, Done That" song. The phrase in question is repeated a bit too many times, but sounds pretty good.

he's had 2 flop series (one on NBC and one on ABC) in the last couple years. So... no.

BOS3 Mr Byrne's contrib to Red Hot &....

Was supposed to see them at Bimbo's tonight, but the show was cancelled due to illness. :(
-
"Don't Fence Me In" would have been better after the Mandela clip.
-
We have both Byrne & Eno now, but separately.

Pity; they've continued to do quality work. Their Sympatico album made my 2006 year-end Top 10.

Ha! True.

Tmbg, omg..lol.

indeed -- Bustout of the Month! BOS4

BOS3FRA: TMBG, "Your Racist Friend." One of their rare excursions into literalism.

What a bizarre song, especially for them.
-
WOS to this unnecessary Black Crowes song. :-\
-
Unguilty displeasure: I've never liked the Black Crowes. Does that make me a racist, friend?
-
HM, Black Crowes. BOS, TMBG.

they did this at Stern Grove last month. it was a highlight for me, I love the album it's from. But I left their show thinking, "hmm, I realize their stuff plays better in smaller doses... and I can see why they now do kids songs: it's because they always sort of HAVE done kids songs, and their original fan base has outgrown their music. So why not just keep composing stuff for the kids of the fans?

Only if you prefer the White Stripes. ;)

That was an unusually short Annalisa set.

When they tried to age, their John Henry album disappointed a lot of people in its darkness.

the pixies?
I like this set a lot. It's really upbeat, sound wise.

Not at all a bad one, tho'. And we avoided both the Hammer and the "Ice" man. Unfortunately we also avoided anything else soulful (no, the Crowes don't count).
