A lot of "usual suspects" requests (sometimes I want to cry when I see what's on AL's FB page) but plenty of room for Miss 'lisa to hit this one out of the park too.

Not a fan of "Holding Back The Years" eh? :-X And I think that would be 1986.
At least nobody has requested "We Built This City". Not that I could tell anyway.
-
ick. Instant WOS The Firm. Yes, guys -- you ARE "unattractive".
even Percy hates it -- he just got mad and grabbed a brick.
-

I was always bothered by the word "distractive". Weak.

Agreed. But we're two for two in the ex-Zep side project category. Alas, JPJ didn't do much in '85.
-
BOS Bruce & Cybill in Moonlighting. If only AL had followed that with Al Jarreau. But VHM Ree-Ree -- "nevah you mind the exercise", as I m'greened that line.
ETA: ooo, the loooong version. Extended throwdown, indeed.
-
An "extended throwdown": it's a slightly longer version than the FoL I know!
-
BOS, Moonlighting clip. One of my favorite shows of all time.
BOS, also, to dem Honeydrippers. And HM to the Firm, just to off-set the WOS votes. It's not great, but has a cool little guitar technique that saves it somewhat. Jimmy saved any number of songs with cool little guitar techniques...

I enjoted the Firm and had their LP

Nor Bonham. While the others were composing, he was decomposing.

Extended JINX! Yeah, it's the LP cut -- the 45 had some stuff excised to keep it under 4 mins.
Here's Alicat's "Obsession" -- she will find a way, and she will have her request.

Who is this? Kinda Human Leaguey.
ETA: I see it's Animotion.

Animotion. Huge hit
Damn, the clips are better than the songs -- BOS2 & 3 Golden Girls annd Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
Dunno who is tee-na-nee-na-noo'ing here.
-
I am obsessed!
-
This set is turning out well enough. There were/are so MANY ways to go south like a flock of seagulls which worried me when I read some of the requests on FB.
-
Not sure the teena-neena song warranted the extended dance remix we're hearing.
-
VHM "Buss me on the Kiss".
-

yeah, that went on way too long for a not-very-interesting obscurity.
-
VHM "Buss me on the Kiss".
new to me
-
BOS to Animotion.
Not sure what the song after that was, but it was interesting enough, so BOS2.
-
Dunno who is tee-na-nee-na-noo'ing here.
Me either but it went on a lot longer than it needed to.
However following it with the 'Mats makes it all better. Kiss Me on the BOS, Baby!
-
Oh yeah, and the "I know you are but what am I" clip after "Obsession" was cute.
-
what's good fo' the goose is ALWAYS good for a BOS! yay "Sheila" -- and deedle-deedle doo.
-
OH Sheila.......
-

I laughed.
-
OH Sheila.......
Did Prince write this? Sure sounds like him, arrangement-wise too.
-
VHM "Buss me on the Kiss".
new to me
amazingly, only one appearance in the Morey era -- I'd've guessed more.
-

nope, just one of those Minneapolis-sound clone things. A very good imitation.

I've learned to trust AL's discretion when it comes to some of the dreck that people request on FB. Mostly she ignores the crap and goes for the real rarities. She's got a good sense of what's worthy and what's not, teena neena nu notwithstanding.
-
BOS5 the Hooters -- always preferable to the Hooties. This one really has aged well, IMHO.
-
BOS to Live Aid.
The first time I ever used a credit card was to donate to that event's cause. So I guess I helped pay to hear Phil Collins play twice that day. Sorry guys!
-

I was gonna say these guys and Wang Chung oughta get together and do a double bill that I could not go to. And it occurred to me that that's an awesome double bill, name-wise. Add in Tones on Tail and you've got everything covered (or uncovered).
-
Not generally a fan of this Hooters song (though I agree it's 10000000x better than Hootie, anything by which would get an automatic WOS except for maybe "Sad Caper"), but it does balance this set out quite nicely & doesn't sound too bad. So it gets a free pass today.
-
VHM to RFTW, but BOS to an all-time fave of mine, "The Whole of the Moon."
-
Oh. My. GAWD! uber-BOS6 "The Whole Of the Moon", easily one of my favorite lyrics of all time. Brilliant, really.
-
Another BOS for the Waterboys, Whole of the Moon. One I didn't get at the time, but came to appreciate later on.
-
One of the most beautiful songs ever written...
Whole Of The Moon - The Waterboys uberduber BOS!
-

so you finally saw Brigadoon, then. ;)
-
They saw the rain-dirty valley - but I think we all saw Brigadoon, right guys? ;)

OMG jinx! Hehe
-
BOS3 Waterboys
-
thank you, AL for NOT following Back to the Future with Huey Lewis.
VHM TFF, "Mother's Milk", er, "Mothers Talk"
-
Always in the mood for some Tears for Fears, esp. if it's not one of their overplayed singles! BOS4 Mother's Talk.
-
Weekend: work it out~!
-
BOS2 to "Mothers Talk," which I loved at the time and was disappointed it stalled on the charts - and extra kudos to AL for playing the single remix (the album track was inferior, less potent).
-
Holy crap, that was Alex Chilton tee-nah-noodling.
-
Uh-oh, we've all incurred the wrath of the ghost of Alex Chilton now!
-
Dunno who is tee-na-nee-na-noo'ing here.
Me either but it went on a lot longer than it needed to.

That was Alex Chilton?!?! No wonder he languished in obscurity for all those years. But following it with the Mats makes more sense now.
-

I know! I feel so guilty about spurning it now.
