AL suddenly posted last nite that she'd changed her mind -- "Local Scene: the '70s" will be Friday. Meanwhile since I just found out about this, there are already 47 request comments for '77 so I won't even bother at this point.
-
aaack! Yes past their sell-by date (WOS1), with Rush promised as well (WOS2). Not an auspicious start, AL.
-
Dang, what a rockin' Yes start! Hope Rich is hearing this. We saw both Yes and Rush within the last few weeks.
-
"Good Morning Judge" ain't makin' me much happier, either.
-
BOS da Feets.
-
BOS da Feets.
Agreed. But I'm on board with all this stuff. Even Lynyrd Skynyrd.
-
I know a little 'bout 10@10, and this set is not doin' it for me so far.
-
Yay! BOS2 Mink DeVille, sounding more than a bit like ZZT on da "Cadillac Walk"
-
What's this "Cadillac Walk" doohickey?
-
More fun with the Commode Doors.
-
OW! she's a brick VHM. she's a cow, she's a cow, she's a cow now!

like! (was Steve Howe in Yes? b/c Asia just played back east, perhaps w some other guitarist.)
-
I believe the first four songs all featured some slide guitar, btw...
-
VHM KC, keepin' it common-law! It's a mondegreen fest!
-
Linda feels so bad because Elvis is dead? oy! BOS3 that-pitch-was-like-a-song: it blew by you.
-
BOS Linda
-
Closer to the heart attack? sheesh. the aforementioned Rush with the aforementioned WOS2.
I repeat the refrain I sang during the Morey era: just once in a '77 set, could we follow Elvis death clips with an actual, y'now, Elvis song?
-
why is she yelling at us?
In other news, BOS for Rush!

I'd rather hear Linda yell than hear the horrific Geddy Lee making dogs' heads explode ;)

that's the great thing about 10 at 10: we got to hear both! :) :)
-
Yay for Rush. Even if you don't like Geddy's voice, you gotta appreciate his bass playing.
And HM for Queen. Didja hear Brian May on "Fresh Air"? He was great, and gave some really interesting facts about the way "We Will Rock You" was recorded.
-
Freddie wants to, er, rock you. Why do you think they called the band "Queen", dude?
-
BTW, Casey's '70s is a '77 chart this week.
B-Day shout-out to Darryl! Woo Hoo!

Without cheating and looking at allmusic, I'll pose the question: Did Elvis release anything in 1977?

yes -- his hit "Way Down" (an underrated/underplayed tune) was in the Top 40 when he died, and he also had "Moody Blue" earlier that year.

OK - I hadn't realized "Way Down" was from that late in his career. So yes, that would be a fitting song to play.
