I'm guessing it'll be something '90s, with '80s Thurs and (presumably) HFH on Friday the 13th.
-
good thing i'm packing to go off on a school indoctrination retreat; I'm not too interested in what this year sounds like so far!
:D
-
Duran squared: 1983. That was easy!

I like this one. Great bass playing, especially near the end. I guessed 83 or 84, leaning towards 83.
-
Bowie puts out fire with cat people. or something. BOS.

Ah well, different strokes for different folks! BOS1 goes to Is There Something I Should Know? D2 :)

I guess so ;)
I like that "news" quote: "Nothing is as good as it ought to be, but it's much better than it was."

ahhh, "Worlds Away"
all is forgiven!

never quite got the love for this one (Dave played it often too). A total Narada for me.

This is what the eighties felt like to me. Though I didn't like most of it. I like this one.
By the way, did I tell you that I saw Narada playing drums for Jeff Beck at the Masonic a few months ago? A great show.
-
BOS2 Kinks -- thank gawd it ain't "Come Dancing", which I have heard THREE TIMES in the 6:00 hour in the past week.

In their earliest incarnation, KFOG was all over this one, so you'll probably find a lot of long-time locals who have a soft spot for it.
BOS1 Worlds Away, BOS2 the Kinks (natch).
-
BOS3 the Purple One -- ah gets dee-LEE-ree-owss.

Narada for me too, but I love the epic feel. reminds me of Ultravox. This set has been great so far, and if anyone has my permission to break the string of new waviness, Ray Davies can. Although he certainly does cram some awkward narrative lyrics into Don't Forget To Daunce.
OTOH, I've never quite taken to this particular take on delerium.

The Polecats! Make A Circuit With Me! Yes!
-
BOS for Risky Business.
-
VHM Tom before he cruised.
uber-BOS4 "Make a Circuit With Me"!! A bustout?
-
now I get why this dialog from Risky Business keeps getting played: Tom Cruise sounded crazy even back then! Why didn't we see it?!
-
The Polecats! Make A Circuit With Me! Yes!
was this big out here? It was an NY alt-radio fave and I haven't heard it in ages.

Big Rick and co. used to play it on KITS. Not a huge alt hit, no.
-
VHMFRA this Stray Cats rarity. Polecats--> Stray Cats. Cute.
-
another rarity/bustout -- Neil and the Shocking Pinks. that's 3 in a row -- kudos, AL!

Yes I see a theme here: now we have the Canadian rocker who occasionally sounds like a wailing wounded cat who's not Geddy Lee... nice AL!
-
Ending on a strong rockabilly note, between the Stray Cats and Neil & the Shocking Pinks' Payola Blues.
ETA: Whatever this following the Neil song has me stumped.
-
Hoodoo Gurus -- pretty snappy rocker.
-
Whatever this following the Neil song has me stumped however.
you and me both, bub.
ah, it's the Hoodoo Gurus! 4 (?) bustouts in one set -- not too shabby
-
on my, the Hoodoo Gurus did the last song.. def a bustout there.
-
Also, dug Payola Blues, which Annalisa said she'd always wanted to play on the radio, well... just because. ;-}

BOS for Risky Business.
I didn't get to listen to this but this would be my year.
Risky Business was great for to umm..."look at" Rebecca DeMornay (despite who her father is, Wally George).
