AL's clue is that it's the year Apple Computer, Inc was born. And hey, we haven't had a "new" 1976 set since May.
-
Put in my request for "Convoy". Hey, you never know.

More likely we'll hear it next Friday ;)
I asked for Southside Johnny, tho' AL may consider that too East Coast. SSJ&tAJs have, like, one appearance in the Morey era, for "Havin' a Party" in a Kaboom set or a Spring WingDing set or something.

That Frampton we avoided last week belatedly arrives. Someone drop a cup while I submerge for 4 minutes.

I enjoy this song. My band used to play it, and I saw Frampton coming alive at the Mountain Winery a few weeks ago. He was great, and of course the crowd went wild when he used the Talkbox.
-
OMG! Miss Candi Staten Island! A KFOG bustout, methinks -- BOS for sheer fabulosity.
-

He was the T-Pain of his day.

more love here for Peter Frampton, who lives in Cleveland these days, I think.
Don't know this lady disco -- Young Hearts? -- the voice sounds very familiar. .. a little Gladys Knight-y, perhaps?
-
Big giggle for Mary Hartman's marital woes segue into the Miracles' "Love Machine". BOS for the lot of it!
ETA: The super-looooong version! Never heard this before. Doesn't add all that much, though it does have a nice cheezy synth part.
-
BOS2 Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and her sexless husband -- "Love machine", indeed -- she couldn't get his meter to rise!

Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free. Her other hit was in 1970.
Frampton has lived outside Cincinnati for many years. Not sure how he ended up there, other than its more central for getting around the country for gigs, and the cost of living is low.

until One Eskimo sampled her -- there are fab best-ofs for her on Amazon, which I posted about recently.
earth-quakin', soul-shakin' looooooooooong version of the Miracles' hit!
-
love machine, awesome. more disco that that last Candi-ass song. Har har.. (I keeed! Candi's great..)
I almost borrowed a Mary Hartman DVD from the liberry, but I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the vague memory of coolness. (I do have found memories of spinoff Fernwood Tonight, though. I think that would still be funny.)
-
lawdy, it's a goddamn disco spectacular! Miss Thelma covers Teddy. Proxy of Alicat.

and speaking of Don Pardo... SNL! BOS3 Jane Curtin, goin' crazy on us! VHM Heart, replete with extended intro.
-
Heart!
BOS for Jane Curtin's boobs. I remember that, though I never really liked Jane Curtin, though I did prefer her to Lorraine Newman.

the Teddy P version is in my Top 100 songs .. or something... I don't really have a list, but if I did it would be there.

BOS for Kiss doing a real straight-forward rocker.

good one!

This "Country Mile" song is NTM. Molly Hatchet?
ETA: I see it's Rory Gallagher.
-

I'll guess no, b/c his voice doesn't sound that froggy to me.
I'll guess Foghat, just because they are playing tonight with BOC at the Sonoma County Fair. I'm dying to go.
-
I know I'm a bit old for this, but somehow I always liked Thin Lizzy
-

nah, they are awesome! it's an Irish rockin' two-fer with Rory and T'in Lizzy
-
I know I'm a bit old for this, but somehow I always liked Thin Lizzy
They totally rule, IMHO. And I'm still amazed when I hear "Whiskey in the Jar-O" to think that it came out in '73 and got zero US airplay at the time. VHM "Jailbreak".
-
I know I'm a bit old for this, but somehow I always liked Thin Lizzy
I like 'em too. And "Jailbreak" is a favorite since we played it in the LSJUMB.
And I was gonna comment on the Irish twin-spin too, but a cow orker came to tell me he has some work for me to do. Phooey on that! 10at10 is ON!
-
and we close (?) with a spin on the row-lee-coastah. I'd've much preferred "Who'd She Coo", but whaddya gonna doo? (when she says goodbye -- Davefish)

(TV: Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman)
3. Miracles- Love Machine
4. Thelma Houston- Don't Leave Me This Way (BOS!!)
(SNL: Jane Curtin Weekend Update)
5. Heart- Crazy On You

Candi & Rory were bustouts, methinks. AL may have played the KISS tune before; not sure about the Zevon. (ETA: Warren's "PPPM" shows 8 plays in the Morey era! where is my brain?)
-
(ETA: Warren's "PPPM" shows 8 plays in the Morey era! where is my brain?)
Mike, you are now an official Foghead. Congratulations!

That coaster's got a crash point at top center.
