But once again I can't access AL's FB-page -- blank screen and browser freezes up. It's ONLY her page that does this! WTF??
-
Looks like it's 1988 - let's break out the Prozac and have a ball... ::)

damn, I'm pissed that I can't get AL's FB-page to work -- I have plenty '88 "suggestions"...
I Should Be So Lucky (Kylie Minogue)
Liar Liar (Debbie Harry)
Make Me Lose Control (Eric Carmen)
Sign Your Name (TTD)
I Hate Myself 4 Lovin U (Joan Jett)
Kiss Me Deadly (Lita Ford)
Love Overboard (Gladys/Pips)

I've requested "Bone Machine" from the Pixies and "Teen Age Riot" by Sonic Youth, along with a few secular hits.
Somebody requested Mr. Mister and "Tears For Fear".
And just to irritate RGMike, there is a "Wishing Well" request.

not surprising -- why *not* request one of the biggest Katrinas of '88? ::)

And it's batting leadoff. If "Don't Worry Be Happy" gets played - well, let's hope it doesn't.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!! Jeezus H Christ on a stick. Well, it's gotta get better from here...
-
David Lindley? We heard this once before, it was a bustout the last time iirc.
-
'88... there was INXS, Steve Winwood, George Michael, George Harrison, Michael Jackson, Rick Astley, UB40, GNR, Poison, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Debbie Gibson & Tiffany (not saying I like all that, but that's what was all over the radio)
-
BOS the orig Hairspray! one-two-cha-cha-cha!

Yo!

VHM Mr Buongiovi.
and iirc he wrote Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself..." -- good segue opportunity here.
-
personally, I prefer a sinful business and a bod for head.

Gigantic: a song about interracial sex, no?

Gigantic: a song about interracial sex, no?
I'm just trying to figure out who this is. L7? But this is before their time...
ETA: I see it's the Pixies. I've never heard a Pixies song that didn't have Black Francis singing lead.
-
Gigantic: a song about interracial sex, no?
paging Chi Coltrane! So lufa got his Pixies, but not the song he wanted.
-
VHM "Don't Go", now now now.
-
BOS - Gigantic!!! Oh, how I love the Pixies.

What does Chi Coltrane have to do with that song?

"Thunder & Lightning" is also about a "gigantic", er, member, as Gaz mentions every time we hear that song.
-
VHM Ziggy & Co -- I loved this in '88, mainly because mainstream US radio ignored it. Now it *is* mainstream.
-
A simple smooth easy reggae riff w great backing vox. I've always liked this song.
That last song was NTM, started out thinking "oh no, some bloo-zy rock, who needs it?" .. but it picked up speed and I was digging it by the end.

That was Hothouse Flowers -- something of a Dave fave, actually. (He played it 6 times in 4 years)
BOS2 Mr Cohen -- and it's NOT "Everybody Knows"!

Well, I always ask for more than what I want, and figure I'll get half.
Is this Leonard Cohen? Awesome!
-
oh, goodness! This virus newsclip is HIGH-lar-ee-ous!
It took all night for that "electronical mail" to get from California to MIT, while the students slept. Why were they asleep you ask? b/c someone put on Leonard Cohen slumberous voice.
(I was thinking it was Robbie Robertson at first -- wouldn't that be some duet? two sleepy Canadian voices battling in ultra low-tones?)

I seeeeee. I checked out the lyrics -- I definitely wasn't paying enough attention to the words that time.

I'll give a BOS for Michelle Shocked. Great atmosphere on this tune, not as much the lyrics.

I gotta BOS Iggy, since I tuned in too late to hear the Pixies (dammit).
ETA: I mean, er, TPoH, which even then i got confused with Iggy for some reason.

I don't often make 10@10 requests, but when I do, I prefer to choose songs that I both want to hear, and aren't Katrinas (and have a ghost of a chance of actually being played).
