Post by: RGMike on June 30, 2010, 07:40:04 AM
But once again I can't access AL's FB-page -- blank screen and browser freezes up. It's ONLY her page that does this! WTF??

damn, I'm pissed that I can't get AL's FB-page to work -- I have plenty '88 "suggestions"...

I Should Be So Lucky (Kylie Minogue)
Liar Liar (Debbie Harry)
Make Me Lose Control (Eric Carmen)
Sign Your Name (TTD)
I Hate Myself 4 Lovin U (Joan Jett)
Kiss Me Deadly (Lita Ford)
Love Overboard (Gladys/Pips)

I've requested "Bone Machine" from the Pixies and "Teen Age Riot" by Sonic Youth, along with a few secular hits.

Somebody requested Mr. Mister and "Tears For Fear".

And just to irritate RGMike, there is a "Wishing Well" request.

not surprising -- why *not* request one of the biggest Katrinas of '88? ::)

And it's batting leadoff. If "Don't Worry Be Happy" gets played - well, let's hope it doesn't.

I'm just trying to figure out who this is.  L7?  But this is before their time...

ETA: I see it's the Pixies.  I've never heard a Pixies song that didn't have Black Francis singing lead.

"Thunder & Lightning" is also about a "gigantic", er, member, as Gaz mentions every time we hear that song.

VHM Ziggy & Co -- I loved this in '88, mainly because mainstream US radio ignored it. Now it *is* mainstream.

A simple smooth easy reggae riff w great backing vox.  I've always liked this song.

That last song was NTM, started out thinking "oh no, some bloo-zy rock, who needs it?" .. but it picked up speed and I was digging it by the end.

That was Hothouse Flowers -- something of a Dave fave, actually. (He played it 6 times in 4 years)

BOS2 Mr Cohen -- and it's NOT "Everybody Knows"!

Well, I always ask for more than what I want, and figure I'll get half.

Is this Leonard Cohen? Awesome!

oh, goodness!  This virus newsclip is HIGH-lar-ee-ous!

It took all night for that "electronical mail" to get from California to MIT, while the students slept.   Why were they asleep you ask?  b/c someone put on Leonard Cohen slumberous voice.

(I was thinking it was Robbie Robertson at first -- wouldn't that be some duet?  two sleepy Canadian voices battling in ultra low-tones?)

I don't often make 10@10 requests, but when I do, I prefer to choose songs that I both want to hear, and aren't Katrinas (and have a ghost of a chance of actually being played).
