Beware the Men At Work my son...
Instead Dave joins the many radio jocks to play Beat It in the past 24 hours.
-
I guess "Beat It" should have been an obvious guess.
But show of hands: Who actually wanted 1983 today?
-
"Beat It"! hahaha! A better TOTHC I couldn't imagine.
-
show of hands: Who actually wanted 1983 today?
not I, said Bubbles the Chimp. It has been 5 weeks, tho' so we were due.
-
I was looking at the music log for NYC's "Jack" and at around the time of the verdict yesterday, they played, like, 5 MJ songs.
-
I guess radio stations have been hesitant to play MJ songs up until this point. So, there's like, been a build-up.
Well, since '83 is my high school grad year I can usually stomache a visit.
-
BOS Ms Summer. Pretty damn good record considering she was fulfilling a contractual obligation. She worked hard, yuk yuk.
-
HM Ms Summer because I never HM Ms Summer.
-
Listening to "She Works Hard for the Money" while sending out resumes and cover letters is mildly surreal and more than a little discouraging.
-
GAAAH! Phil Collins. The Dark Side of '83. At least for me.

dude, you're a writer (and a damn good one, may I add) -- not a restroom attendant.
-
Set phasers to "Clone" for Beej!

"That's All" -- if only it had been...

I appreciate that -- but I don't have publications beating down my door to access my writing and editing skills. :(

Am I steppin into the
Katrina Zone?
Blah-blah-blah-blah-blah
Do you want to bone a clone?
OK, those aren't the lyrics- but I'm bored now....

Scarlett Johannsen plays a clone in that new Michael Bay movie The Island
-
So, does Dave go out & pee while the long version of "Twilight Zone" is playing? That's about the only use I can think for it.
-

I'd bone a Johannsen clone in a NY minute (which, coincidentally, is about how long I'd probably last).
ZA-ZING! I gotta million of 'em!

Greetings from Microsoft!
Sitting here in a huge lecture hall listening to the Softies tell us how great XBox is & how great all of us suppliers are for helping htem build it. Not a bad excuse for a trip to Seattle, actually, since I am not really allowed to do any work while I'm here.

your presence (we're always touched by it) is missed. You're not missing too much, 1983-wise.
Bowie at the moment, "Let's Dance" -- I'd've preferred the Elmer Fudd version.
-
Serious moonlight is OK. But, I'd prefer wacky sunshine.
-
Oh, hell. WOS to the Police just because Dave played them less than 10 minutes before 10@10 began. Isn't that in violation of statutes?
-

But, we have decided that the most bonable clones are Johannsen Clones. Well, I think so at least.
Oh, gee- Sting. In an '83 set? That's NUTS!
-
If Sting had known "Murder by Numbers" would be a Sandra Bullock movie -- would he have still written the song? Just askin'.

LOL! Sting's all: "MY GOD! What have I done?! NooOOoOoO!"
-
BOS Madness. At least for now.
-
BOS 2 Madness, just 'cause it ain't "Our House".
-
Ooh! BOS to the little-known "Our House" followup, "It Must Be Love." Actually made the Top 40. Dippy lyrics but that sunshine-pop vibe is so giddy it's irresistible.
-
Madness is the best. If Dave ever plays "One Step Beyond" in a time-appropriate 10at10 I'd be a happy clone-boner.
-
didn't we hear this Tubes tune in our last '83 set? "on the tip of katrina" I'd say...
-
If Sting had known "Murder by Numbers" would be a Sandra Bullock movie -- would he have still written the song? Just askin'.
It was first co-opted by Copycat, a good but gruesome film that really seemed to celebrate being a serial killer. Very disturbing despite excellent acting by Sigourney Weaver, Holly Hunter and a real eye-opening turn by Harry Connick, Jr.

Gaz if you're sticking around, check out that oldies stream I mentioned yesterday:

veddy interesting mix.

Or "On The Wings of a Dove". I'd be happy for a week if he played that one.
-
Oh, bloody hell! "Twilight Zone" twice in one day. Way to go, MAX 95.7.
-
That was me.
-
