No clues as of last nite on FB. A theme of some sort, perhaps? I'm guessing in 2 weeks we get another "Dads 'n' Grads" set and of course the last Friday of June will be the Pride Set.
ETA: '82 on the Mexican Radio.
-
I'm down with a Mexican Radio.

BOS Jeff Spicoli. DUUUUDE!
VHM VH.
-
aaaaaaaaaaaack! WOS Asia. "Y'know how I know you're gay?"
and now you find yourself in '82
the disco hotspots hold no charm for you
no wonder Dave liked this one. He was pretty disenchanted with "disco hotspots" by '82.

I'll second the WOS. Where does that quote come from?

good set so far, and I'm including the Asia song! (tho' I liked Soul Survivor better)
-
"eye of the tiger, man! eye of the TIGER!!"
BOS2 and Cheeze-for-Breakfast Award.

Holy pop-rock overload, Batman! Survivor now? Stop the madness, AL!

-
hey hey, XTC's gay. Or something. VHM to a 'trina working overtime.

Something to do with Asia?
Now you're talking! BOS for XTC's "Senses Working Overtime".

"... and all the world is football shaped" confused me before I realized "football" means something entirely different to the English

the Steve Carell character has a framed Asia poster on his wall, which Paul Rudd's character considers, like, totally gay, dude. A freakin' hilarious movie.

Hey! That never occurred to me.
-
"I Confess" this is one Moreytrina too many for me. But proxy of shray.

I agree. I'll have to see it again. It IS painful though, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
BOS2 for the English Beat.
-
I confess I'll give a BOSwhatever to The English Vinyl Beat!

WOS to the Boring Earring.
-
yeesh, WOS2 Golden Earring -- I think of this one as '83, perhaps it overlapped?
VHM Officer & a Gentleman; I'd've preferred "Up Where We Belong" to "Twilight Zone".
-
I may have told this anecdote before, but one afternoon in 1988 I was driving around Eastern Lawn Guyland and I heard "Twilight Zone" played as an oldie on 3 different AOR stations from 2 different states. It was then that I realized consultants had taken over radio.

same here. that song became a guilty pleasure for me after I got over myself and decided it was a good tune.

6 years old and it's an oldie? Beezaar. I still kind of enjoy Twilight Zone, mostly from its association with the cool video of the bullet going through the playing card, and my time at Stanford.

I wish I had requested the Sherbs We Ride Tonight

Wow, NTM REM. Now THAT'S 1982.

BOS3 REM -- methinks this is a bustout; certainly a rarity.
-
Queen Eliz: "We must recover the Fuckin' Islands..."

Annalisa says "Golden Earring, Twilight Zone .. Boy, that's a long song..."
I think she finally realized it sucks -- a little too late, though.

I also associate this with '83 -- it was all over the radio when I was in London that summer, along with Style Council and Paul Young.

It appears that The Killers wasn't pre-screened for critics. I wonder why? (other than the fact that even the "funny" parts in the previews weren't funny)

indeed, and if you've seen the trailer for Knight & Day (Tom Cruise & Cameron Diaz) it's nearly the same movie (except Cruise & Diaz's characters aren't married). But Get Him To the Greek is getting surprisingly good reviews.
