Nice pinky rings for those doods! And rockin' album title.
And a rarely played Kinks toon tooooooo!
Wowsers! It's a British Invasion twin twin-spin!
-
ha! the Kinks' "Set Me Free" is our duplicate tune from Bob's '65 set -- I'd've guessed "Wooly Bully" would make a 2nd appearance.
Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda
The Kinks - Set Me Free
Jr. Walker & The All-Stars - Shotgun
The Animals - It's My Life
The Yardbirds - For Your Love
Fontella Bass - Rescue Me
Bob Dylan - Positively 4th Street
The Beatles - Yesterday
Sam the Sham & the Pharohs - Wooly Bully
The Guess Who - Shakin' All Over
this Jeannnie-in-the-safe clip is officially AL's first "Sally"
and it's another twin-spin!
-
Remember the episode where Major Nelson completely has his way with Jeannie?!

Ya need that many for 1965! It's certainly a record total length for early 60's years.
I think HMR is tune 13! Maybe it's two-fer the price of one today on 10at10!

I always suspected the reason Dave traditionally did '60s on Friday was because (like "Fifties Friday" before it) a short '60s set got his weekend started that much sooner.

You must've missed AL's response to whoever requested Woolly Bully--she said she'd love to but she just played it about two weeks ago (for Cinco de Mayo, iirc).

oops.
Meanwhile, although AL heavily referenced Sound of Music on FB, it was Bob who played a clip from it during his '65 set.

Did, like, every '65-'68 male pop band have one of those jumping-up-in-the-air poses? Ubercliche.
Having said that, on the replay, co-BOS to Phil Ochs (NTM!) and Ramsey Lewis.
And one of my favorite NY pizza places, Two Boots, has a slice called the Mel Cooley.
He's a white pie with sundried tomatoes, basil pesto, and roasted peppers.

you need to discover Mr Ochs, a true genius -- there are good best-ofs out there.
