Babs's cover!

I'm gonna put in a request for "Sadie," but I fear we'll get the Intruders' "I'll Always Love My Mama" (great sentiment, awful lead vocal).

"Motherless Children" by Steve Miller, Tom Jones/Portishead, or Clapton.  Something from Mother Earth perhaps? "Your Mother Should Know" or "Mother Nature's Son" from the Beatles.  "Mother's Lament" from Cream would be quite a stretch.

ABBA's "Does Your Mother Know" or "Mamma Mia."

"Motherless Children" by Steve Miller, Tom Jones/Portishead

Wow, Geoff, I'm psyched that you know the Tom Jones w/ Portishead version!  I really like both of his duet covers albums.

Will.i.am, "I Got It From My Mama"
Junior, "Mama Used to Say"

Some fairly uncreative Fogheads on AL's FB page; I suggested the Junior, J-5, Fountains of Wayne and Queen songs mentioned above, as well as EJ's "Mama Can't Buy You Love"

AL nixed Lennon's "Mother" as "too sad and painful".

"Mama I'm Coming Home", Ozzy
"Shock Your Mama", Debbie Gibson
"Mothers Talk", Tears For Fears
"Wind Beneath My Wings", any version
"Down With The Sickness", Disturbed

I am glad that Annalisa is doing a lot of 'specialty' sets.

BOS to ABBA Mamma Mia (I liked the movie, too) and HM Three Dog Night's Mama Told Me Not To Come, two oft-heard classics that sound great to me today.

but w the Stones Mother's Little Helper this is turning into a well-worn set.

If only Bonnie Franklin as Mom  knew what her other daughter Mackenzie Philips was up to back then, I'm sure SHE would've been grounded too

BOS, "Mama Said.."

One of the cool things about my Washington DC trip...  On the metro, making my way from the airport to my hotel, a bunch of kids in white shirts and rw&b ties gets on.  Turns out they were some sort of boys chorus, and they launched into a fab rendition of this.  Way cool way to start my trip.

hearing the replay -- can we just admit that, although it's a fantastic song and I was glad to hear it today and every day that it may come across the airwaves, that ABBA's Mamma Mia has pretty much nothing to do with anyone's mother...?

You could substitute the phrase "jeepers creepers" and the song would not lose any meaning whatsoever.  :)
