Don't know about them, but I do know that Calexico is a couple 'o white guys (Joey Burns and John Convertino) from Arizona, Tucson I think.

Don't know about them, but I do know that Calexico is a couple 'o white guys (Joey Burns and John Convertino) from Arizona, Tucson I think.

I wikipeed them and they are from Mexico, but they were playing Flamenco, which has Spanish origins.
(Yo wikipedi a los, y estan Mejicanos, pero juegan la Flamenco, que tiene origines espanol.)

Agreed on War's "Cinco de Mayo." But "Gypsy Man" gets co-BOS with the song that preceded, Calexico's "Quattro," which I loved a lot when it came out. I'm fine with AL stretching the playlist to American artists with Chicano cred.
