AL's clue: Return of the Jedi. I've asked for MJ & Macca, "Say Say Say".
-
Anyone else having probs with the stream? it was working earlier but now I'm getting endless buffering...
-
SRV and ZZ, a rockin' 1-2 from '83.
I'm listening over air, had a couple drop outs yesterday.
-
Big ol' dose of Texas guitars to lead off--SRV, then ZZTop. Neither gets a BOS, although Under Pressure sure sounds like a rarity if not a bustout.
-
I never noticed the "She likes cocaine" line before. Interesting.

oh yeah, that's the best line, the way he draws it out, just leaves it there like a line on a mirror.

nope -- and apparently I was wrong earlier about my PC upgrade meaning I could get The Drive and the Sound -- I get neither. But KFOG def worked earlier with WMP and now... nothing.

Neil & the Shocking Pinks!

SRV was a favorite, when he broke on the scene I couldn't get enough. Saw him in Toronto in 85, where he opened for Dire Straits and blew them away, IMHO.
saw him again a few years later in NYC on a summertime Pier concert.
-
Always liked the Neil Young Shocking Pinks Video

Woo Effing Hoo!
BOS & Big ATBB for Rank and File "Amanda Ruth". Love this.
ETA: "No she can't cook, but she's got something good to eat."
-
Woo Effing Hoo redux!
Another BOS & ATBB for The Alarm "The Stand". First song I heard by them & still my favorite.
These last two songs are ones I have been pining for seemingly forever. Yay Annalisa!

"It's only right, now!"
That's what Amanda Ruth said.
-
i was going to WOS Kiss, but this song is so dang funny, I just can't. Thanks, Kiss, for all that you do!
-
I'm assuming tons of ATBBs today...
-
Who do you want to be? I thought this one was from '85...
Or perhaps I'll cross the other side and walk around in DRAG

agreed.
but here's Woo Effing Hoo, Part III
BOS #3 & yet another ATBB, Oingo Boingo "Who Do you Want To Be Today?"
-
I'm assuming tons of ATBBs today...
Well here's another one, Sparks w/Jane Wiedlin "Cool Places", one of the great duets of the era.
Him: "I wanna go where sometimes they refuse..."
Her: "Yeah, I remember last Saturday night."

Actually a pretty fun set, sounded like '83 to me!
-
BOS Tracey Ullman!
Tracey's from '84, no? Someone requested that on FB; guess AL just took their word for it.

How timely. Timeless, even.

RE: "Dynasty," this item in today's news: Most expensive home for sale in America
The late Aaron Spelling left his wife a palatial L.A. estate, and it could be yours for only $150 million.

I'd've gone to cool places with Russell Mael. Except for the fear that Ronald would tag along.

Yep. Six out of 10. The ZZTop song, and then tunes 5 thru 9 inclusive. Very sweet set.

Caught up last nite -- a mixed bag for me. Uber-BOS to the Alarm tune; haven't heard that in years and it's just killer. And BOSes to Oingo Boingo and Sparks/Wiedlin (tho' "All You Ever Think About is Sex" would've been even better). But the ZZTop and Rank & File were both NTM and easy WOSes. The ZZT is completely generic (I thought it was Sammy Hagar at first) and the R&F line "No she can't cook, but she's got something good to eat" might've amused me if I'd been 12 in 1983... but I wasn't.
And what was up with the Tracey Ullman? it sounded slightly "off", like it had been speeded up a bit on a turntable. Odd.
