and -- holy crap -- AL hints that we'll be hearing Malcolm McLaren's "Buffalo Girls", which would be the ATBB of the century.

Round the outside!  That'll be mighty - but I still think the ATBB of the century would be Grace Slick's 15-minute "Theme from Manhole."

Is this the first track from Imperial Bedroom we've ever heard on 10@10?

BOS4 "Images of Heaven" -- proxy of shray too.

I don't think I would use the word "deliciously." I don't think I would have made it through ten minutes of it had I not been stoned.

"Shakin'" gets my first ho-hum of the set; it's the one we've heard the most, probably.

BOS6 Bow Wow Wow -- wow!

part of a McLaren twin-spin, I'm guessing.

I suggested both EC and KC over on AL's FB pg. Who'd a thunk she'd use *both* of 'em? And 10@10 FAIL to me for not tuning in until the X tune. Must try for the replay tonight.

TANC: Much discussion here recently of the Adam Ant/Bow Wow Wow connection (and the latter's McLaren connection). So is Buffalo Gals still on deck?

Yup!  BOS7 the World Famous Supreme Team.

the ABC and BWW were requests too -- I'm quite amazed.

4/12/10...MONDAY...escape to...1982 !

 1.  ABC- The Look Of Love
 2.  Yaz- Don't Go
(News: Unemployment high)
 3.  Elvis Costello- Beyond Belief
 4.  Peter Godwin- Images of Heaven
 5.  King Crimson- Heartbeat
(Movie: Fast Times At Ridgemont High)
 6.  The Blasters- I'm Shakin'
 7.  X- The Hungry Wolf
(TV clip-Square Pegs)
 8.  Adam Ant- Goody Two Shoes
 9.  Bow Wow Wow- I Want Candy
(Malcolm McLaren-"So, I'm permanently cool")
10. Malcolm McLaren- Buffalo Gals (B.O.S!!-R.I.P)

Fantabulous, and (yet again) compare AL's '80s sets to the AOR crapfests Bob and Larry are usually saddled with.

Really fine effort, and we're only up to tune #4 in the replay. Quite possibly the best '82 set ever.

And a wealth of bustouts, too. ABC was not, but Yaz, EC, X, Adam Ant, and of course Malcolm McLaren all were. And the Yaz & McLaren were artist bustouts, too. Can't ask for better. (Not that that'll stop us!)

Listening to Goody Two Shoes, I had forgotten how often that song modulates keys. Wish I had a buck for every key change in that sucka.

Just took a count: I saw five of the bands in today's set in 1982: Costello, Crimson, Blasters, X, and Bow Wow Wow.

that's a good idea for a set in a given year: bands you saw during that actual year.

I saw Bow Wow Wow in 82/83?  Elvis at Hardly Strictly couple years ago, ABC at the Independent a couple years ago (at this point it's just Martin Fry and band, but he's still great), bits and pieces of Blasters (Dave Alvin, Steve Berlin) and X (John Doe, Exene in The Knitters) here and there.  Saw Adrian Belew in 1984? as well, but his solo show is very unlike KC.  No Frippitronics.

Quite possibly the best '82 set ever.

I heard most of the replay last night, but upstairs in bed so no posting.  But in my book this is hands down the best '82 set ever.  And methinks one of the best Monday morning sets as well.

Can't wait for Saturday morning.
