Katrina that "You Wear it Well" may be, it was nice to hear the little-heard acoustic intro.

Was thinking the same thing, in fact I was thinking of a My 3 Songs with that topic because driving in this morning I heard KFOG play "American Woman" with the intro.

I heard them play that last week -- it had been the first time I'd heard it on KFOG (outside of 10@10) in some time. Must be in rotation again -- one of the tunes they've added in reaction to MAX, perhaps.

They are also suddenly playing a LOT of Police & Sting, is there a reunion tour in the works?

Chicago's sounding nice this morning.  I'm late tuning in b/c I got a phone call from an overeager PR guy.  He'd connected me with Ladybug Mecca of Digable Planets two years ago; I interviewed her for StarPolish.com and a now-defunct Maryland mag called The Ear.  At the time she was promoting her "soon-to-be-released" solo album -- which never dropped.  Now, it finally is (again, allegedly), to be accompanied by a reunion tour with her DP bandmates.  Not sure if I should take the bait again.  (As an aside, her manager/producer came over to my apartment, LOVED my Earth Wind & Fire poster and offered to smoke me up sometime.)

Thinking about more songs with seldom-played intros, how about "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is"?

This Doobies song sounded better a year or two later when they rewrote it as "China Grove."

I'm so old... can you tell me if that's a drug euphemism or a sex euphemism?

I guess in NY it's a drug euphemism, but in SF it would be sex.

ETA:  Took the whole family into the City on Saturday evening to have dinner with my friend Carl (who I've sometimes dragged along to club gatherings) & his parents who are visiting.  Parked in the garage at O'Farrell & Taylor on the 4th level & when the elevator door opened, my wife asked, "Going down?"

Guy with the open necked shirt & large diamond stud earring replies, "Well, the elevator is."

the first time I heard this (on CKLW on a winter's eve) I had no idea it was from Wonka and thought maybe it was some kind of bizarre anti-drug song!

indeed, BOS3 for me.  As a rumination on fame, a better song than "Candle in the Wind" IMHO.

not exactly, it was one of those prosaic diner terms that the waitress call back into the kitchen when placing your order - for a chicken omelette.

(chicken + egg = mother + child)

Something must be up with the Digable Planets--if memory serves there's a group using that name playing the Independent (Joe, you probably remember it as the Justice League or maybe the Kennel Club) shortly, or maybe recently. Not sure who's involved.
