Webster said something about Red White & Blue...
And Petty's rockin' around witchoo!
-
And Rockin' Around with TP&theHBs is not a bad way to start. Not quite BOS mat'l, but a good start.
-
Shake yo' VHM booty!

I wasn't listening that closely -- was it scratchy?
VHM Mr Seger's "Sunspot Baby" -- a nice rarity from that LP.
-
Bustout Baby, sure had a real good BOS!
Could never understand why this one didn't get much airplay back circa '76-77--it RAWKS!
-
And a sweet little segue from Sunspot Baby into George's This Song! BOS2!
Anyone else catch Eric Idle (or was that Graham Chapman) in the break going into the solo section?

It got its share on NYC prog-FM. Wasn't thinking bustout, since Bob & Rob have played it, but glad to hear it is.
BOS George, spoofing himself on "This Song" "could be sugar pie honey bunch" says the guy with the Monty Python voice.

That was funny - never noticed it before. Good tune. Was that Tom Scott on the sax?

Great video too -- which was shown on SNL.

AAAACK! from sublime George to hellish Paul.

I like it. Sort of like his Leon Russell impersonation.

You betcha it was. He was *everywhere* in the mid-70s.
Now do me a flavor, and let Paulie and his whole fam damily in.
-
Nice drum segue.
-
Nice Paul-to-Paul segue there.
Can somebody tell me about the 50 ways? BOS3 Paulie2.
(Btw, not sure, but I would not be surprised to hear Tom Scott on this one, too.)
-

I much prefer the Afro-centric Billy Paul version.
There must be 50 ways to avoid Macca in '76 -- wish AL could've found ten. VHM Mr Simon, gettin' hisself free.
-
BOS2 Gilda as Baba Wawa.
Coulda done without nappy-headed Stevie -- so many great underheard tracks on this LP.
-
Small shoutout to Baba Wawa, who I believe aired her final post-Oscar special the other night.
VHM Stevie, hangin' with those hoodlum friends.
-
BOS for Baba Wawa, the fabulous Gilda Radner. I still miss her.
And real BOS for Stevie's "I Wish", head and shoulders above the other songs, if'n' you ask me.

Double ditto.

nappy head and shoulders!
-
we know I love 10cc, but this is another unnecessarily overplayed hit.

And I could have done without 10cc's Things We Do For Love. Easily their most played track, although this is its first '76 appearance. Probably because it wasn't released til '77--whoopsie!
-

I'm still wondering how a compromise with Charlie helped the situation.
Oooooh, and uber-BOS for David Bowie falling to Earth and giving us "Stay". I love this one.

VHM The Man Who Fell To Earth; proxy of gaz "Stay"

as Brownsville Station would say, "to get caught with Shirley'd be the death of us all!"

Likewise, but I think the Harrison tune is getting my overall vote today. No early punk in today's set, unless AL drops the Ramones in the #10 slot or something.
-
Woe is me. New job still going great, but boss has just decided that our daily salesgroup recap meeting should be at 10:00 instead of 9:30. Nothing but the end of the set (if I'm lucky) from now on.
-
BOS3 the fab Ferry!

But instead AL leaves us with one last bustout, solo That Sexy Voice, Let's Stick Together. Let's make a vow, shall we?

I'm amazed that's a bustout -- coulda sworn Dave gave it a spin or 2.

Upon further research, you are right. Two prior spins, in '02 and '08. Mea culpa. This is what I get for trying to juggle too many things at once.

Did Wilbert Harrison get a co-writing credit for that? I wonder how the rewrite came about.

Just looked it up: Wilbert originally wrote it in '62 as "Let's Stick Together," which is what Ferry covered; Harrison re-recorded it in '69 as "Let's Work Together," which is the song I've always known by him and Canned Frog.

Canned Frog.
Jeez, Canned Frog?
