YAY!
Chicago thinks it's either 25 or 6 to 4--no wonder they didn't really know what time it was.
BOS1 nonetheless, this was one of my all-time faves in HS.

LAWD! BOS non-crappy Clapton, livin' on "Blues Power"
-
Tempted to BOS Slowhand's Blues Power, just 'cause it's a bit of a rarity--a bustout, in fact.
TANC: Just started reading EC autobiog the other night--not a bad read so far.

no idea who this country-fried bluesy thang is.

Reminds me of Phil Lesh. Could it be the Dead? ...though the instruments sound nothing like them.
-
OMG!!! Proxies of Geoff and Alicat, and yet another BOS from me too, for Pigpen & the Dead, Operator, off American Beauty. The Dead were an entirely different band when Pig was still alive. RIP Mr. McKernan.

indeed it is -- NTM, and I actually liked them in that period! BOS2.

OK, well I had some of it right. I knew it reminded me of the Dead for some reason.

Holee crapolee! BOS3 Ms. Safka, "Look What they Done to ma chanson"

Son of OMG!!! It's Melanie, Look What They Done To My Song. AL, I love you!

Somewhere Dave is thinking "look what AL's done to my 10@10, Ma!" Too bad Edith Piaf didn't live long enuf to cover this one.
VHM the Cat Man -- "Wild World" would normally be a standout, but after 2 bustouts like that it's just "good".
-
Pretty nice batch of rarities so far--after the Chicago tune, which has been played often enough, we had three straight debuts, and now Cat Stevens' Wild World--which has only shown up once previously, just over six years ago on Feb 20, '04.

I'm always Glad to hear Traffic on 10at10.
-
well if the closest we get to a katrina is "Glad", I won't get mad.

Hear hear, easily a VHM here. But as Mike said about Wild World, in a lesser set this'd get a BOS easily.
-
Rod the Bod gets up yer alley, so to speak. BOS4

BOS5 Beatles, on their way back home.

They demanded a new kind of music. Music like The Led Zeppelin. Hah! BOS for the Immigrant Song.
-
And the hits just keep on comin': BOS for the Partridges, Beatles, and Zep, too.
Valhalla, we are coming!!!

I would imagine this to be a bustout, no? What's next? "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" when she does '67 next? ;)

How about The Eleven in '69?
Digging on The Partridge Fam right now, since I missed it this am due to the usual ill-timed phone call.

BOS to Rod Stewart. Rod at the height of his powers is pretty fantabulous!
VHM to Melanie, that sounded REALLY good this morning. I forgot how bitter, angry and sad those lyrics are. And RGMike: it sounds like she IS channeling Edith Piaf already in that one -- quite the chanson!

Just perused the list of Dead songs we have heard in the DB era, and the oldest is Uncle John's Band, circa 1970, so almost anything from the 60s at all would be considered a bustout. I think we may have heard St. Stephen once in my memory, but not going to swear to it.

BOS6 the Mighty Zep -- I, for one, welcome our Viking overlords!
I listened the the last few songs on the replay, and I have a question. Am I the last person to notice the similarity to Zappa's "Yellow Snow?"

BOS6 the Mighty Zep -- I, for one, welcome our Viking overlords!
I enjoyed hearing this on the Saturday replay, and wondered, am I the only who remembered that this song was mentioned the previous Friday when Annalisa played the B-side?

I was in a meeting during last Friday's b-side set, but it only makes sense, as, for a long time, "Hey Hey What Can I Do" was only available as the b-side to "Immagrant Song."
