So where we going today? Guessing 80s.
ETA: Wrong again! And happily so!
BOS1 Backdoah Man. I'll leave the pithy comments to Mike. ;)

happy you're wrong! '67 again -- 2nd time in a month, no? Of course, we rarely get anything before '65, so if it's '60s, the odds are one in five...
oops wrong Doors quote. But the little girls understand -- a nod to Doug Fieger?

Tee Hee. Actually, "back door" didn't necessarily mean that in '67.
-
BOS: Otis tells Carla she goofy.
-
BOS2 Tramp--Carla is givin' Otis a ration of shit.

"Is that ... 'Soul-Finger' by the Bar-Kays?"
-
mo' soul, baby! BOS2 "Soulfinger". Lawd have mercy.
-
"Is that ... 'Soul-Finger' by the Bar-Kays?"
the only memorable moment from an awful movie.
-
It's a Stax twin-spin! Otis & Carla heading straight into the Bar-Kays' Soul Finger. Pretty sure Booker T & the MGs were the backing group on both of these.

It's amazing how many songs by popular artists she finds that I've never heard before. Nice work!

amazing how many popular artists with huge catalogs are (sadly) boiled down to 3 or 4 endlessly played tracks by Classic Rock radio.

True dat, but I'm setting the bar much higher (I think) by needing to hear songs that are new to me, not just new to AOR. And a BOS for....The Bee Gees!
-
Today's Uber-BOS, to the BeeGees, To Love Somebody.

Paul used to be cruel to his woman. So Jane left and he replaced her with Linda!

When you play Beatles Rock Band and browse through song choices, it plays that twangy guitar riff at the beginning each time you switch songs. It really makes you want to just to "Getting Better".
-
Gotta give due to the Beatles--BOS Getting Better. Not a bustout, but it only appeared once previously--in the Sgt. Pepper 40th anniversary set.
-
OMFG! uber-BOS5 the Cowsills!!
"the cowsill is the gateway to the barn" as Dan Ingram used to quip.

Wow, who's blowin' harp, man?

flower girl --> "Dandelion". Cute. BOS6 the Stones at their most endearing (not a phrase you hear often).

Segue of the day, possibly the week: (I Love The) Flower Girl into Dandelion.

That's 'cause Brian Jones was still exerting his influence over their sound pretty strongly.
-
AL consistently outdoes herself the '60s. Long may she wave.
-
and now back to WLNG for Bob Shannon's this-week-in-1967 countdown!

I'm joining you for this - just in time for "You Got to Me."

There doesn't seem to have been a bonus track today either. I've sent AL a note asking if it's been shelved, will let y'all know what I hear.

Confirmation received from AL: the 10@10 bonus track is no more. Since it was originally intended to bridge Dave's 10@10 with Annalisa's show, and now that's kind of superfluous, they decided to end it.
So long bonus track, we knew ye well.

interesting -- a groundswell of support (Fogheads posting "bring back the bonus track!" on KFOG's FB page) might change that, or a ratings fall-off during that first post-10@10 block.

being as gullible as I am, I can't tell if you're serious! Definitely did not have that connotation back then. It's a classic blues phrase.
