They're doing another "Vinyl Friday" on the Morning Show, and AL will continue the theme with 10 B-sides -- I seem to recall Dave doing this once some years back.
"Time everlasting... time to play B-sides..."

Released in 1983 'Attack of the Killer B's' was a compilation promoting some of the current acts on the label. At the time, these were non-lp tracks. Now, some can be found on some bonus track CD's etc. Track listing - 'You're My Favorite Waste of Time' MARSHALL CRENSHAW -'Babysitter' THE RAMONES - 'Shock Den Affen' PETER GABRIEL - 'Producer' GANG OF FOUR - 'In The Sticks' PRETENDERS - 'Take Time to Know Her' JOHN HIATT - 'Grace' THE TIME - 'Amnesia and Jealousy (Oh Lana)' T-BONE BURNETT - 'What Will Lucy Do?' THE BLASTERS - 'Always Unknowing' ROXY MUSIC - 'Love Goes to a Building on Fire' TALKING HEADS - 'Walk the Dog' LAURIE ANDERSON.
I still have this LP on vinyl!

I think my all-time favorite B-sides might be Aretha Franklin's "Oh Me Oh My (I'm a Fool for You Baby)" and the Beatles' SFF.
-
"Be my A-Side, baby... be B-Side me."
-
1956
Be Bop A Lula
Gene Vincent
-
holee crap -- Gene Vincent!
-
I love everything about the Beach Boys "Don't Worry Baby"
guitar, bass, vocals
so tough
-
VHM "Don't Worry Baby." Did radio stations at the time flinch at the "she makes love to me" line?
-
BB's "Don't Worry Baby" was a B? I shoulda brought Whitburn with me today.

some, yes. Remember that there were 2 versions of "Help Me Rhonda", one said "She was gonna be my lover..." and the other said "...my wife..."
BOS Stones!

Richie Unterberger showed some Gene Vincent clips in one of his presentations last year. I didn't know much about him, like the chronic pain from the accident that gave him a bad limp.
I think the clip from a Denmark concert showed him really bending over, in pain, but he used the stance to some good "rocker" effect. Richie mentioned there's footage of him coming back to the stage on cruches.

Back then, "making love" was not exclusively carnal. Hard to hear it now any other way.

-
BOS2 one of my fave B-tle B's.
-

The kings of the double-sided smashes! VHM CCR, speaking of political.
when the taxman came to Joseph Andrew Stack's door... it was on fire.
-
and "she wants to ball all day" used to mean she preferred to play ping pong!
:)
-
LedZep was inevitable in this set. His woman wanna ball alll day ... and he's complaining?

"ball all day" JINX!
actually, I understood that at one time "ball" was a verb that also meant "to party", which is how Little Richard got away with it

"... time to play B-sides..."
Hey Mike, AL played your BÖC pull quote as a bumper!
That was pretty inevitable (as was the Diner quote) -- we may also get a Pete Wingfield clip before it's all over.

I'd like to hear Scritti Politti's "Wanna hear the b-side b-side b-side" which I think is from Small Talk
-
BOS4 one of the '70s most famous B-sides, "Silver Springs" -- the goat at her un-goatiest.
-
Silver Spring was indeed a great B side. Not available on the album, but a great song.

AL's really done her homework on this one. Just wish I'd been able to hear all of it--the phone rang during Be Bop a Lula, and our conversation lasted until Silver Springs. Really wish I'd been able to hear that Stones song.
-
U2 has had some great B-sides ("Sweetest Thing", "Everlasting Love") but this one is NTM.
-
BOS: The Rolling Stones. I haven't heard theirs before, but I also liked Soup Dragons' remake of it.
VHM: Bruce Springsteen.
WOS: Fleetwood Mac. First song of theirs I heard because they tried re-releasing it (as well as Landslide) in...1996 I think? It did hit AT40...but it totally ruined them for me until the "Say You Will" era.

I turn on KFOG at 9:55PM ready for tonight's 10at10 and they're already halfway into song #2. "Hey KFOG, the show is "10 AT 10!"

Haha, I tuned in at 1:15 and was stunned to hear "Silver Springs."
BOS to Fmac; and radical347, I'm glad you mentioned Say You Will, as "Peacekeeper"'s still one of my favorites of the decade.
ETA: BOS2 to "Pink Cadillac," because I love it when Bruce sings about sex. Even when it's ladyparts.

That's been the way it's gone more often than not of late, with the replay starting around 9:55. Last night they must've been *really* early.

I used to think it was ten to ten at the beginning!
