Title: Radical347's Top 50 of 2009, Full countdown up!
Post by: radical347 on January 15, 2010, 01:34:59 PM
Part I (50-33) is finished, for your listening pleasure!

It's "Davey's Top 50," because I called it that when I first started making these (chart's been around since 1999 & I did a live year-end in '02, '06, and '08 also)...and the name kind of stuck.  Comments, flames, etc welcome.  These are all in 128k.  If the files are too big, I can make a 20k one.  If you want me to email or snail mail you a copy, just let me know.  Enjoy!  :)

Part II (32-16) will hopefully be done this weekend...and Part III sometime next week.

I really enjoyed part I - thanks for sharing with us!  I'm impressed with your editing and crossfading - what equipment do you use to record?

PS: Would be interested in seeing lists of your past years' countdowns.  I've done top 10-20 lists for most years of the past decade.

Thanks for listening! :)  Glad you like it.  I just use CoolEdit & a microphone.  I'll pm you my previous year-end charts.  Would love to see your charts too!

Got your charts; I'll send mine when I have some time at home.

Meantime, again, nice work, glad you likewise dug Doves' "Kingdom of Rust," and thanks for intro'ing me to that Chris Isaak song "We Let Her Down."  But Katy Perry's "Hot & Cold"?  Lord.

I always forget you don't have a Triple-A station in NYC; that Isaak tune was a KFOG (over-)playlist biggie when it was new. I always found it kinda creepy; it's about a suicide, no?

Something like that.  But the title, for some reason, cracks me up. He seems to like writing songs about people being let down...a few years ago there was "Let Me Down Easy".

Doesn't NYC have WFUV?  Though it's college-based so I'm not sure how strong the signal is; still their playlist looks a lot more interesting than KFOG.
