I'll mostly bail on this and listen later

I'm at the Sound, they're doing 1974.

Yep, but Cornflake Girl is a bustout. Crucify has turned up a handful of times, God just once.

VHM to the unfairly maligned Monster album and one of its best singles, "Bang and Blame."  Cue Mike's Alex Bennett joke in 3 ... 2 ...

har-dee-har: Kerrigan/Harding into "Bang & Blame". (or as Lisa Carr used to call it, "that song about Alex Bennett's sex life")

DINGDINGDING!  Nice to be so predictable. It's like message-board comfort food.

Looking at the "upcoming" field on KFOG's player, that might be a good move. Besides, it's tough for me to resist the siren call of 1974.

In the meantime, BOS Bang and Blame.

Gosh - I remember liking this song an awful lot. I don't remember who it is now, though. Uh...Meat puppets?

Is this a repeat?  I know in the last 1994 set she played Bang & Blame (VHM) and Backwater (BOS1)...although I think I remember B&B being later in the set so maybe not.

But, it still might be because when she played the Nancy Kerrigan clip, I wish she'd have followed it by Headline News by Weird Al...and I remember wishing that before too.

I don't know how unfairly. I own it and often forget I do. I had to pull it out just now to see if I had "Bang and Blame," one of the two songs I like on the album (yes, the other one I like is also the other hit).

Would Weird Al be an artist bustout?  That would indeed be fun to hear.

And the board's having trouble loading for me again.

There's no way this Blur song has been on 10at10 before.  Certainly different from the rest of the stuff.  That Damon Albarn is a pretty clever dude.

Oh well.  I know nothing.  BOS for Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun".

This came out about the time I started listening to KOME, which was heavy into grunge at the time.

Nope, it's supposed to be heavy.  It reeks of heaviosity.  And I feel fine.

BOS.

AAAACK! DMB to really put the screws to us. Seems wrong to bitch too much as AL's been doing stellar work lately, but... my least fave set of hers in ages.  Hope this is first in the marathon tomo'w so i can sleep thru it.

The one custom of Dave's that AL has been pretty much adamant about not following is 60s on Friday. If she's done two 60s sets on a Friday since she's been in the driver's seat, I'd say that's a lot. Guessing it's more like one or none (classics not included).

I remember when Ants Marching was out (& what would you say) the entire world seemed to go gaga over DMB.  Now everyone hates them.  Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

I'll admit their sound was original back then.  By the time they got around to Busted Stuff, it wasn't so original anymore, but still solid.  But their latest two have been horrendous -- Stand Up and that Groogrux diaster?!?! What the hell happened to them.

I felt fine, too. But I can understand. Having had been a Soundgarden fans for years by that point, BHS sounded a bit...poppy.

At least it took awhile - I think it took about six months for Hootie & The Blowfish to go from media darlings to critically maligned.

Personally, I dig 1994 - even if pop music was at a bit of a crossroads at the time. To each their own!
