70s? Please?
ETA: Ah, the weekly trip to the 60s--I'm good with that!
TOTHK: CCR, Commotion!
-
70s? Please?
Ha! close but no cee-gah! CCR causin' a com-com-MO-shun.
-
Probably the least played of CCR's hits. (Or was it a B-side?) HM to "Commotion."
-
i like how he says "choich" instead of church
-
Lawdy! BOS Zho Co-KAIR, the orig studio version of Leon Russell's fab "Delta Lady"
-

B-side of "Green River", actually.
-
HM, Joe Cocker doing Leon (figuratively), Delta Lady.
Does the intro to this cause anyone else to flash on the theme to Maude?
-
BOS to Joe Cocker.
this one soars...
-
WOS to PR&tR's commercial dolly repurposing of "Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon."

DINGDINGDING we have a winner!

yes, I can hear Maude in there. I just wikipeed :) "Maude" and see that Donnny hathaway sings the theme. never knew that
-
And here's BOS2: Dusty doin' the preacher's son -- *not* figuratively.
-
Another BOS comin' down the pike: Isleys, Do Yo' Thang!!
The interplay between the horns, the guitar, and the rhythm section on this is impeccable--not to mention FONKY!
-

isn't it called It's Your Thing, no?
But I can't tell you what to call it -- or who to sock it to, for that matter.
-
Love is hot - truth is MOLTEN! BOS to Donovan, and I gotta go now.
-
BOS3 Donovan, goo goo barabajagl! Love is HOT! Truth is MOLTEN!
-
Love is hot - truth is MOLTEN!
hot molten JINX!
VHM Goldie Hawn, who gets a namecheck in Almodovar's disappointing new film..
-

First time Dusty's appeared in (ahem) '69. DM always played that one in '68 sets. And Barabajagal is less of a rarity than I'd have guessed--it was Dave's go-to Donovan tune for 1969.
-
Gaz left just in time -- he dislikes "Marrakesh Express" iirc. But I love it so. BOS4.
-
Nice--Graham's taking us all to Marrakech. Nifty twin guitar parts from Stills.
-
OMG! Gaz is missing the BOS5-D! "Aquarius" RULES!
-
And our first bustout of the day, 5D, Aquarius>Let The Sun Shine In.
Looks like the Fifth Dimension is an artist bustout as well--I'm not turning up any previous appearances in the DB. Which means there's a whole catalog of tunes AL could mine--Wedding Bell Blues, One Less Bell to Answer, Up Up and Away, to name just a few.
-
being a Pisces, this song always kinda bothered me. :)

wow. Let's hope AL pulls more 5D out of her hat in more sets!
-
I'm guessing Traffic? That's Stevie Winwood, no?
another BOS!

Hear, hear! Kinda odd that Dave never played them. One of his many unexplainable omissions.
VHM Blind Faith "Sea of Joy" -- another bustout?
-
BOS6 Stones, with a VVHM to Merry Clayton. So we got Woodstock and Altamont (sorta)
-
VHM Blind Faith "Sea of Joy" -- another bustout?
It appears so--looks like Dave only played Can't Find My Way Home--also surprising. I'd have thought he'd have played Presence of the Lord a time or two. Guess not.
One more BOS for Merry Clayton and the Stones. It's just a shout away!

the princess would've made sure that happened sooner ;)
-
DAY-um! the Mighty Zep make their 2nd appearance of the week! BOS7. I'm exhausted -- fine fine work from AL today.
-
5D wins the popular BOS vote! Who'd a thunk?!?

they've been confounding me by showing good taste lately (see post in the KFOG-but-not-10@10 thread).

I was gonna post at the end of the set that it was a rare '69 set without the Fab Four. We also avoided Steam, Spiral Starecase, and "Someday We'll Be Together"
-
A most wonderful set. I phoned in BOS Aquarius.
