coincidentally, as the remake opens today, he was the evil warden in the original Longest Yard. And he was great in Heartbreak Kid too.

Nov 15th, 2077: Legendary Pop Music Critic Joseph McCombs Passes.
McCombs, author of a dozen books and an Oscar-winning screenwriter (for 2042's The Robbie Williams Story) was only 104. His life partner, baseball great Pat Burrell, died last year at the age of 102.
Former President Britney Spears commented, "I thought he was already dead?"

The still-living, cryogenically preserved head of tambourine prodigy Barry J. "Beej" Weir, Jr, had this to say:
"I'll never forget when that crazy kid stuck his finger in the bug zapper at Mshray's house. That was awesome. He didn't know squat about character actors, though. At least he'll get to meet Eddie Albert in person now".

This just found in the journals of rockstar turned boat hermit, Amelia Ray:
Would that Joseph McCombs had Ted Turner's resources. The world would be a happier place, what with everyone dancing to Sylvester, making love to Diana Ross, and smoking dope to jefferson Airplane.
Ray died in her sleep aboard her boat on the Chesapeake Bay on 8 September 2042. She was found with a bottle of Jack Daniels in one hand and a picture of Catherine Zeta-Jones in the other. She had just returned from a viewing of The Robbie Williams Story.
