I figured we were in for a '90s Friday.
-
I really like "Good Things" by BoDeans, BOS #1.
The live version on their double live LP is particularly good.
-
If I should snore, er, fall.

Was getting all excited 'cause the intro to this sounded just like Teenage Fanclub (which would have made my head explode), but not to be. Just as well--today would not be a good day for my head to explode.
-
At least we're not going to get Mint Condition's "Here We Go Again!"
I'm hoping for some Liz Phair and/or PM Dawn. '93 was great for alt-rock, not so much for Top 40.
-
VHM Jurassic Park, tho' I prefer the porn version Jurassic Pork.
WOS Hiatt, who truly shows up in every '90s set, it seems.
-
I'm guessing this Something
Wild Mild is by John Hiatt?
WOS proxy for Gaz...

Would tomorrow be a better day?

don't be so sure (and it's Portrait, not Mint Condition). Would love Boy George's "Crying Game".

Oops.
WOS to "Wicked Garden," one of the least interesting of STP's songs. Grunge-by-numbers.
-
BOS #2 STP "Wicked Garden", this is what '893 sounded like to me, not the preceeding couple of tunes.
-
HM for STP, rocking in the free world. But not a very good song. So maybe just an M.
-
Hey dudes! It's a bass music set at The Sound!
Roundabout
Sly & Family Stone Thank Ya Falettin me be mice elf agin...
ooh, here's RUSH w YYZ!

most grunge is grunge-by-numbers to my ears; one of those it-all-sounds-alike-to-me genres.

Don't ask, don't tell, don't play Melisseridge.

How about "Sunshine of Your Love"? Better.

Is this Percy? VHM, if it is.
-
VHM, Percy, 29 Palms. Wasn't long after this he re-established his partnership with Page and was suddenly a big deal again.
-
BOS that newfangled interweb! I hear it's a series of tubes...

All I know is that it's not a truck.

WOS Bobcat Bjork.
-
Ahhh, Bjork. Not digging this this morning.

WOS Bobcat Bjork.
ditto. Bjork's voice drives me Berjerk.
-
One more WOS for Whitebread Picnic. Def. some Moreyesque elements in today's set.

too many for my taste. I'm quite bored.

Any clue what this track following WP is? I can't place it.

Smashing Pumpkins?
VHM Cracker, like some junkie cosmonaut.

I'm very glad that set is over. Not one of AL's high points.
apparently that one we didn't know was Afghan Whigs -- which gets props for rarity, even if it didn't exactly light my fire.

when 10at10 heads into the 90s, I usually head to LA.

This is what I'm talking about, '90s comfort music! ;D (Though I was hoping for 1999...but I'll take this.)
BOS to Widespread Panic. They're generally hit or miss with me, but "Pickin' Up the Pieces" is my favorite song by them...and it's been a long time since I've heard anything by them. A close second goes to the BoDeans...this song sounds great as is, mighty fine on all the AAA samplers its on (which is quite a bit), and even better live.
Yeah, I'll second WOS for John Hiatt. Not one of his more interesting songs, though I love the title track of that album "Perfectly Good Guitar."
I would have loved something like Culture Beat or The Captain Hollywood Project.

Although, if anybody cares, three of these songs, plus the bonus track, reached my personal chart. "Human Behaviour" reached #10, Low #11, Feed The Tree #19 and 29 Palms #39. And this was prior to my KFOG-listening days.
