self reflexivity gets a BOS. I love this one, on heavy rotation in my MP3 playlist.
Hollywood Swang-ang!
-
Christy, you know what you got? You got chutzpah, that's what you got!
-
Great big BOS for the wildly underrepresented Little Feat.
-
No bustouts yet, but decent song selection so far.
BOS1 (and proxy of Shray) Feats, Oh Atlanta.
You can drop me off on Peachtree...
-
Oh Atlanta.
You can drop me off on Peachtree...
Would that be Peachtree Blvd? Avenue? Street? Parkway? Lane?
the guy yelling the background vox reminds me of Brett Mydland

Take your pick...they got all of them.
Never thought about the simiarlity to Brent's voice, but you right.
Proxy of Alicat Walkin' On. You sure this isn't another Dave-era repeat?
-
Another great big BOS for Lily Von Shtup, and the fabulous
Bernadette Peters Madeline Kahn.
-
BOS2 da Feets
BOS3 Madeline Kahn.
-
Oooooh--eee! Here's our bustout! BOS2, Dead Loose Lucy!!!
Proxy of Geoff on this 'un! And Alicat, and...
Thank you...for a real good time!
-

I stand corrected, apparently.
I don't recognize this Dead song. BOSFRA.
-
BOS4 Billy Swan -- when Elvis turns your song down, record it your own damn self -- and have a #1 hit.
-

The woman screaming background vox sounds like.... Donna Godchaux! OMG... IT IS!
-
I got two strong arms, I can BOS Billy Swan and his roller-rink rinky-dink keyboard.
-

I don't recognize this Dead song. BOSFRA.
A deeper cut from Mars Hotel. The Dead didn't play it much, but they dredged it up in the early 90s, to the amazement of all the Deadheads.
VHM Billy Swan, doin' his best Ringo. He can help.
-
And one more BOS for Big Star, Oh My Soul! Bustout numero dos!
ETA: Just occurred to me that AL played a Big Star tune once before--was it this one? Don't recall and don't have time to dig thru the board right now.
-

By Jove, you're right. very Ringo Starry

BOS(5)FRA in any case.
VHM Phillippe Petit -- If you didn't see the docu about him last year, rent it immediately.

Nice segue from WTC tightrope walker to "Help me I think I'm falling...". And another BOS for Joni.
-
Segue of the day: World Trade Center high wire walker clip into Joni's Help Me.
Just love the arrangement on this one, between the horns, the guitars, the vocals, and the in-the-pocket drumming. Flawless. BOS3.
Btw, if you haven't seen the documentary about Philippe Petit's walk between the towers, Man on Wire, I highly recommend it.
ETA: Ah, great minds...segue and movie JINX!!!
-
Guilty Displeasure: the Carpet
Munchers Crawlers.
-
nice set, Joni and Genesis got two more BOS
-
I still dig the Carpet Crawlers, appropriate use of Phil as backing vocals (and drums, of course).
-
Guilty Displeasure: the Carpet Munchers Crawlers.
That dude yelping background vox sounds like Phil Collins trying to sound like Peter Gabriel!
-
BOS, the Tuetonic Titwillow, Madeline Kahn
-
BOS6 Todd. Another of his "why wasn't this a hit single?" bafflements.
-
And we close on a very Moreyesque note, Todd's A Dream Goes On Forever.
Sodden thought: both Todd and the Dead in the same set, fighting it out for BOS! Who will win?!?
-
BOS6 Todd. Another of his "why wasn't this a hit single?" bafflements.
I might blame the way his voice sounds when he sings the line "One of life's biggest tragedies."
It warbles too much and sounds out of tune.

that didn't prevent Natalie Merchant from selling records. Or the Goat. ;)
-
Well, at least AL has redeemed herself for yesterday's trainwreck. A fine set indeed.

More setlist minutia: In the scope of the DB, Dave played every song from Court and Spark at least once--except one: Just Like This Train.

Didn't Todd once say something akin to "I can write a hit anytime I want to..?"
I guess Todd just didn't want this one to be a hit. ;)

uh oh, whenever the Chron prints something about bikes, the anti-bike idiots come out and make comments like "Bike are a menace! None of them stop at stop signs or red lights!"

Sadly, I have to agree with the "anti-bike idiots" -- the bike community in SF are rather an obnoxious bunch; I'm far more afraid of bicyclists than drivers. I've lost count of how many bicyclists have yelled obscenities at me as a pedestrian ("get out of the way, asshole", etc -- even tho' I was nowhere NEAR being in their way). I don't get the attitude. WTF? (present company excluded, of course ;D )

It's a 3 way street downtown. Idiot pedestrians on cell phones walking out on red lights, frustrated motorized idiots blocking intersections and swerving and running stop lights, bike messenger idiots with a death wish, regular bicyclists not waiting for lights. The last two days in the morning I was almost hit by a bike rider running a stop light on Market as I started to cross with the signal (okay, it wasn't as close this morning, as I was paying better attention, Monday mornings being what they are). Yesterday at lunch there was a bike/motorist accident as I walked out of Happy Donut. No idea whose fault it was (I heard it, didn't see it), but I'm sure it could have been avoided if folks would be just a bit more aware and a bit less aggressive.

I think I've read your stuff in the SFGate comments! :o :)
It's true there are some a**h*** bikers out there, but please don't lump all bikers into the same category. I dare say that you notice the bikers that don't follow rules and ride recklessly more than those that are more responsible.

kind of like dog owners. (we have dogs) Most are real nice, but some are so obnoxious about their pet's god-given right to go/poop anywhere they please, sans-leash, it blows.

WOS Billy Swan.
-
Segue of the day: World Trade Center high wire walker clip into Joni's Help Me.
Was listening while driving to SJ & totally agreed when I heard that.
But later she topped it when she went from the 2nd Blazing Saddles clip into Billy Swan:
They come and they go & the go and they come...and always too soon!
