LOL! A nice surprise nonetheless (certainly preferable to a Kaboom set).
good gawd, Hot Chocolate, "Disco Queen" --not one of their best, but a 10@10 breakout I think.

And while we're at it, let's fight the fundamentalist power that would tell us what we can't hear on the radio--uh-uh-uh indeed!

No idea what this Brazilian piece is, but I'm digging it. VHM, maybe even BOS2.

I IM'd Dave & inquired--it's Ramsey Lewis. Great piece, hope we hear it again.

Ditto the BOS. I'm here but couldn't get off the phone.

Change your name to Miguel!
Chopped liver is a possibility. I called Dave and complimented him on the set and said Eduardo must be someone special. He said everyone deserves to get what they want on their birthday.

I found it, must be the title track of the Sun Goddess album, a #44 hit.

"Cut the Cake"
-
VHM AWB, one of my fave shameless-soundalike follow-up hits.
-
ooo! BOS J-5, "I Am Loooooove". It's Dave's greatest '75 Soul hits! Now all we need is Leon Haywood, "I Wanna Do something Freaky To You".
-
BOS- Games People Play (sounds great on headphones!!)
-
and here's another "Games People Play" for urth, tho' the exact title is "They Just Can't Stop It (Games People Play)".
-
BOS #4 - Spinners!

I Love Music (Part 1) - O'Jays
Lonely People - America
Love Won't Let Me Wait - Major Harris
Magic - Pilot
Old Days - Chicago
Poetry Man - Phoebe Snow
Supernatural Thing (Part 1) - Ben E. King
You Are So Beautiful - Joe Cocker

go girl!
"like a hammer on the block, your love began to rock"
er, thanks for sharing, Mavis!
but why is she eating a Butterfinger in the middle of making love?
-
OK, I'm tuning in tonight. I am so sorry I missed this one -- a keeper fo sho. Pedant alert: the actual, and totally ungrammatical, title is "They Just Can't Stop It The (Games People Play)."
To make it even more confusing, my copy of Billboard Top 40 Hits shows it as:
"They Just Can't Stop It" The (Games People Play)
making it one of very few hit singles with actual quotation marks in the title. Which would force me, as a copy editor, to generate the sentence: Have you heard "'They Just Can't Stop It' The (Games People Play)"?
Oy vey mashish!

I just caught the edit on bull$h!t tonight. Never heard it this morning. That kinda ruins a song I love.

I just got home from the Giants/A's game; on the way from BART some guy on a streetcorner had a boombox and was blasting 10@10! Dave was just into "It Only Takes a Minute" right then. A communal radio moment!
