ROTFLMAO -- KPOO's Marilynn plays "You Can Be As Loud As The Hell You Want" from the Avenue Q cast album. Great stuff. I wonder if they've ever approached Gary Coleman about playing "himself" in the show.
-
OMG -- Judge plays Fonda Rae's "Over Like a Fat Rat" -- a club and NY "Urban" radio hit from 1982 that has been all but forgotten. This really takes me back.
-
another early-'80s forgotten club classic: "I Want to Thank You" --Alicia Myers thanking Jesus for getting her laid!
I want to thank you, heavenly father
For shining your light on me,
You sent me someone who really loves me
And not just my body
:o :o :o

JJ plays a NTM Impressions nugget, "Long Cold Winter", followed by early Tempts, "What Love has Joined Together", a Smokey compo better known in the version by Mary Wells.

didn't think the Temps sounded so good on that cut. Of course "so good" is still pretty fantastic, but maybe it was the warpy 45 JJ put on...?
I think JJ played Parliament at about 8:40? did you hear that?

WLNG OMGWTF-of-the-Day: Sheena Easton, "Strut".
And 'LNG's Brian "the Cannon" Bannon becomes my 50th FB-friend -- a milestone!
-

JJ on KPOO leads off with 2 NTM cookers: Sugar Billy (who??) with the improbably titled "Super Duper Love, Part 1 (Are You Diggin' On Me?)" from '75, and Archie Bell & the Drells' "Let's Groove" (NOT the EWF tune) from '76 -- both Top Ten R&B hits that failed to chart Pop.
