I heard this on 98.1 KISS FM tonight at 6:30, too
-
another NTM nugget from 'LNG: The Ones, "You Haven't Seen My Love" -- released on Motown, amazingly, in '67, tho' it's a rock ballad. Methinks John Lennon musta heard this before he wrote "I'm Losing You" for Double Fantasy...

KALX 90.3 FM just played Hello Goodbye and on the back announce the female deejay said ".. and we had the Beatles -- yay! -- doing my favorite track, Hello Goodbye."
I bet she got that from Dave Morey... or maybe the source that Dave got it from? btw, where DID dave get it from?

I recall Dave telling that story on his blog, but that's no longer accessible. Something about his childhood, I think, but my memory's kinda hazy on details.

NTM from JJ tonite: Lakeside, "Pull My Strings", which isn't on the best-of I have by them.
And now Chaka is every woman. Well, given how zaftig she's gotten, she certainly could be several.

So, two BIG anniversaries this week: Woodstock 40 and also the 45th anniv of A Hard Day's Night opening in the US. And so Little Steven's show last nite was dedicated to... Rocky & Bullwinkle? An entertaining show, for sure (lots of cartoon clips) but WTF? He usually makes a big deal out of the Beatle film every year, and... what, is Woodstock not garage-y enuf? Kinda odd.
But he came up with the Find-of-the-Week: "Don't Drop Out of My Life", a '60s girl-group-sounding solo single from 1966 by... Dolly Parton! produced by Ray Stevens! Terrific, and unfortunately not to be found on YouTube.
