I'm guessing '70s today and a theme of some sort tomorrow.
ETA: DING DING DING!
Todd and the Doobs to start.
-
the production on Dream Goes On Forever is nice, but Todd's voice sounds like someone attempting karaoke, esp on the flat (to my ears, anyway) line "one of life's biggest tragedies".
-
I note Tom (Doobie singer) mentions his cars is empty. dude should be carpooling.
-
Holy crap! "I Need to See the Bright Lights Tonight" -- Richard & Linda Thompson get a big Bustout-y BOS.
-
BOS Neil! ;D

oh yeah? I didn't recognize this. He's got a distinctive voice for sure, and his guitar playing is completely awesome (I saw him at last year's Hardly Strictly fest and I was brought to tears, literally), but I'm unfamiliar w her stuff.

I'm always happy to see a big bust out. Wet willie not so much. BOS for Neil and "Walk On".
-
Leonard Cohen, no? I love Canadian music!
-
another ATBB from Leonard Cohen! BOS2.
-
I don't much like this Lover Lover... song (Leondard Cohen, I looked up), but it sure is a rarity.
-
It isn't '74 without Patti Hearst
-
Now that's what I'm talkin about! BOS for Pretzel Logic!!! It's a major Fagen-fest on the chorus -- sounds like there's three of 'im.

yeah, not my favorite. have you ever seen Robert Altman's McCabe And Mrs Miller? great movie with wonderful usage of Leonard's music.

Nope. I'm not really a fan, but he does have some great songs.

there is no logic to KFOG's stream at times. seems lately there have been more skips and drops...
-
BOS for Genesis. It's prog, but not too prog, methinks. It rocks!

Mmmmmm, lambchops!
Another BOS for Roxy's "Out of the Blue". Stellar set.
ETA: This is an awesome song -- tremendous production. It gets my overall BOS.

I love little-heard Queen. Just a little "Tie Your Mother Down" once in a while instead of "Killer Queen" or "Under Pressure" would be so nice.
-
nice end of he set kooker w Queen.
... but I think AL back announced Roxy Music track as "Out The Blue"

Maybe the stream skipped over it. Actually, I lost the stream for almost the entire wrap-up.

Heard the whole set in the car, called in a vote for IWTSTBLT, and told Annalisa that Iwas sure all my friends liked it too, so she said she'd put me down for 3 BOS votes, which I'm sure if urth & Gaz had been here we'd have gotten.
Also major kudos on the Leonard Cohen & the Queen bustouts, neither of which I have ever heard on the radio, though I have the Queen album & an old roommate had the Cohen one. The Cohen tune didn't grab me at first, but I was getting into it by the end.

Definitely would have gotten mine, and that's no small thing in this set. The Queen song with its almost punkish energy would have been a strong contender, too, along with the Todd and Roxy tunes that we've heard before in the Dave era. What a day to have to be out of town. Oh well.
Tink, Richard and Linda were married for much of the 70s after he left Fairport Convention, but only really achieved any acclaim for their last album together, Shoot Out The Lights, which was recorded as their marriage was falling apart. I cannot recommend this album strongly enough--truly a masterpiece. Pour Down Like Silver and IWTSTBLT are also great records, but the best intro to their work together is SOTL.
