Elvis Costello starts; I don't immediately recognize the tune, probably a bustout
"Other Side of Summer?"

Might've been played once (a summer set, maybe?). But BOS from me for EC's ballsiness -- he got a lot of flak for the Lennon reference.
-
Holy crap! Robyn Hitchcock! BOS2 "So You Think You're in Love?"

Co-BOS to both of these bustouts for me.

VHM Art Agnos.
"Big Sky Country" -- dead guys usually win Best-of-Set.

Chris Whitley.
WOS Magic for his badly-worded announcement "the HIV virus that i have... attained." ATTAINED??

who's this "Waterfall" group?
-
who's this "Waterfall" group?
Stone Roses! BOS(3)FRA and proxy of shray.
-
WOS Clarence Thomas
what a contrast to Sonia!
-
who's this "Waterfall" group?
The Stone Roses. (I cheated, though I should have recognized them. They get played on RadioParadise all the time.)
-
at least here's something the old folks can recognize
U2
Even Better Than The Real Thing
-
OMG! how nice to hear Clarence and Anita without "Breaking the Girl".
-
WOS Clarence Thomas
what a contrast to Sonia!
indeed -- but of course he wasn't picked because of his race, oh no. No cynicism there at all. >:(

<Cartman voice> God DAMM It! </close Cartman voice>
I missed "Waterfall" but got on just in time for Clarence Thomas!
-
who was after U2?
-
another bustout: American Music Club! saw them open for Billy Bragg at the Warfield that year. They joined Mr Bragg for his encore -- a long, jammy cover of "Groove Is In the Heart"
-
BOS4 REM, "Radio Song". Yo ho ho!
-
BOS5 "Crush Story" -- I am the smallest giant ever! A Live-105 biggie when I first moved to SF.

Whoozit? I've never heard this before.
-
so I imagine many of you like the fact she's playing stuff rarely/never played on KFOG, but for me, it's somewhat of a disconnect in a year like this.

Too Much Joy -- their only radio hit afaik.

I feel your pain... but yeah, this is way ahead of any Morey '91 set IMHO.
-

WOS to KRS-One's contribution to that, though. I don't get how a homophobic jackass like him linked up with Stipe. Must've been the money.
Nice to hear Too Much Joy - just saw Tim Quirk of the band at this spring's EMP Pop Conference.
-
Wow, not familiar with the Sting song at all ("Mad about You"?), but it was great.
-
Also -- did you (Mike?) remove the forum link from the home page? Luckily I had it in my history... and probably coulda guessed it. Are you trying to take the forums underground?
-
Sting's mad about you.
ah, the inevitable Nirvana. Smells like Tim Allen.

for a sec there I thought AL was playing a rock radio edit without Mr One. And you're right; I never got what that pairing was about.

I did some remodeling, and removed what I felt dead, unnecessary, or redundant. Just click on the icon on right side.

Oh... the graphic. Sorry, I filter graphics because they're usually ads.
Also, I was confused, because I thought it was a link to the chat room (does anybody actually go there?)

nobody actually goes there; it's just something I setup if we should ever want to do it. I'll go back and add a text link. Perhaps that explains your lack of an avatar?
;)

Generally a good set, from what was one of DM's weakest years (he always had issues with 1986 as well). BOS Stone Roses, WOS Chris Whitely (must be a Katrina for this year).

I didn't even know he was dead; that's not much better!

I'll remember that when someday AL kicks off a '66 set with "The Ballad of the Green Berets."

Oof, the text link that's there now: "The old 10@10 Discussion Board" goes to a dead link. So yeah, putting a text link to *this* forum would be swell.
Yah, no avatar -- I'm old-school like that. (Seriously, I still use a text-based e-mail client about 90% of the time.)
But I can dig up something for these parts....

I have that CD, and I got it because I heard "That's A Lie" on the radio, but that was KROQ.

The Stone Roses. (I cheated, though I should have recognized them. They get played on RadioParadise all the time.)
