Paul Hawken wrote a book years ago about how to run a business differently, and still be successful.  I guess he got out while the getting was good.

Wow, now my mother-in-law is going to have to find someplace else to go bargain hunting on the day after Christmas. As long as I've known her (and probably lots longer) she's made a ritual of trooping down to, as she insists on calling it, "Smith and Hawkins" at about 7am on December 26 to buy up as much crap as she can fit in the car at after-Christmas prices.
