technically, the only decade AL hasn't hit yet is the '70s (tho' some of the Neil stuff was from there).
and sure enuf it's '79 with Cheap 'Trina.

My psychic powers are indicating '83. But, to paraphrase Boston, it's less than a feeling.
-
I think we'll hear a 70s's set. Maybe something w Labelle or the Runaways. b/c, well, you know.
-
This set can only get better -- WOS, CT.
On the other hand, if Rod Stewart shows up and asks if we think he's sexy, I'll change that vote!
-
Friday ROOOOLZ, OK? BOS JJ.
"you'll take any 'hit' all right"

A big improvement indeed with Joe Jackson and some righteous bass-playing.
-
Much more like it -- BOS JJ.
-
BOS #1 JJ.
BOS #2 Kinks.
-
BOS for The Kinks, knocking us out with those American thighs. Errr, wait.
-
From Cheap Trick to cheap Kinks! BOS2 "Low Budget".
-
OK, AL -- I'm counting on you to avoid Supertramp. Don't let me down.
-
BOS3 Life of Brian; BOS4 "Rudy".
-
Ooh, BOS for the Life of Brian trailer! VHM for the Specials, too.
-
BCOS -- Life of Brian.
Shoulda played "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"
-
Disco as promised: VHM Clams on the half-a-shell, and roller skates, roller skates.
-

These! Are! The! Good! Times!
Are! You! Straight! Or! Bi!
-
speaking of righteous bass playing!
BOS #4 Chic, from whom Queen stole the bass line for "Another One Bites the Dust".

Yep, it's all about the bass. And nice extended version there...
-
BOS5 Gilda!! BOS6 Blondie's fab "Dreaming" -- is this a KFOG bustout? Don't think Dave ever played this, much as I wished he would.
-
I've got my song sheet out for Dreaming. Thanks for the laughs, Gilda.
-
BOS5 Gilda!!
Gotta say, AL is exceeding all expectations by leaps and bounds.
-
BOS5 Gilda!! BOS6 Blondie's fab "Dreaming"
Love the splashy all-over-the-map drums!
-
OMFG!!! BOS7 Buzzcocks!!! I am verklempt!
-
BOS8 (!) Madness -- One Step BEYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOND!
-
Wow, radio really hadn't started sucking yet in 79. Excellent set.
-
Wow, radio really hadn't started sucking yet in 79.
Not if you asked Elvis Costello!
-
BOS Andy Kaufman. Dees is not a stoo-peed for you..
-
Wow, radio really hadn't started sucking yet in 79.
Assuming you had a new-wave-oriented AOR station in your town.
-
Holy cow! Johnny Cash! I had no idea this was such a recent song.
-
Holy crap, that Andy Kaufman/Johnny Cash clip into -- Jeezus! -- "Ghost Riders in the Sky". BOS9 and I am utterly blown away.
-
Wow. Another BOS, Mr. Cash.
-

It's not in the Db, and for the second consecutive year-based set, Annalisa serves up a group that had no previous entries (first Pixies, now Buzzcocks).
ETA: and now we can add Johnny Cash, in any incarnation! Damn!
-
nice freakin' set, Annalisa! Buzzcocks?! Johnny Cash?!
I wish my stream had caught it from the beginning.
-
Holy cow! Johnny Cash! I had no idea this was such a recent song.
the song is ancient, but I had no idea JC did a version in this year either.
-
Holy cow! Johnny Cash! I had no idea this was such a recent song.
well, it's quite old (originally a hit in 1948) but Johnny's version was '79 I guess (didn't he also do it with Waylon & Willie in the '80s?)
-
"My Bologna"!!!!
-
I'm glad she yanked the bologna (if you know what I mean) in favor of the real thing!
-
uber-BOS10 (!!) Weird Al, "My Bologna" -- wish we heard the whole thing instead of the Knack.
-
OMG, My Balogna! Heeeelarious!
-

I feel quite the opposite.

OMG, My Balogna! Heeeelarious!
Excellent double play.
I still have fond memories of playing Wierd Al's "Eat It" right after Michael Jackson's "Beat It" -- they were both on the same jukebox in some bar in Palo Alto.
-
"My Bologna"!!!!
LOL! And "My Sharona" follows, a song that has surprisngly few Db entries. It's in there thrice in a '79 set, thrice as the '79 entry in a VT, and once in a theme set (Earworms).
Hah, I contrived to use 'thrice' in a sentence twice!
-
And MS has such a great guitar solo. I'd enjoy playing this, I think.
-

nice!
-
I don't dig the "That was swell, wasn't it" dude. He must go.
-
"I can't even read my own writing" -- the hallmark of a great set!
Can someone please tabulate the bustouts? there had to be at least 3 or 4, no?
-

Very '80s. they're hittin' that demographic Sweet Spot.
-

As mentioned above, both Buzzcocks & Johnny Cash were *artist* bustouts. Neither "Dreaming" nor (believe it or not) "Low Budget" are in the Db either. Plus "Friday" has only one entry, and "Good Tiimes" only two.

wow, wow, and wow. As Rod already said, this week has far exceeded expectations. AL is clearly into it and really does her homework. Here's hoping they continue running the marathon in Mon-thru-Fri order; I can do without hearing '95 again but the rest of the week was well worth repeating.
-

No kidding. Now my only fear is that she can't keep it up forever.

Actually I missed the Madness tune. "One Step Beyond" was also a bustout, and all the more welcome because "Our House" is such a Katrina.
But here's an even more intersting way to parse the set:
With a whopping four entires in the Db, tune #4 "Rudi, A Message To You" had more appearances than the rest of tunes 2-9 COMBINED.
-

Annalisa, I think I love you.
-
I had to take care of some business today and missed the set this morning. So I tune in a bit ago planning to catch the replay--and there's none to be heard. Don Henley into Santana's No One to Depend On.
Wait--it's just running late. Here it is at 10:15.
So anyone else think the guy in the intro who's going "back in time to mess with people's minds" sounds kinda like Tom Petty?
-
Wow, they left that semi-risque line go in Low Budget:
We're all on our uppers, we're all going skint
I used to smoke cigars, now I suck on old men...

Ha! that makes up for turning "shit" to "hit" in JJ's "Friday".
