BOS #3, Small Faces.

This set is from May 18, 2007, and it's a keeper.  Got just about everything in it.

Biggest BOS, in a set that could easily go 10-way tie, to the Moodies.

Because!

yes, from Days of Future Passed.  It's called Peak Hour (i.e.:  lunch time, when everyone is rushing around to grab some bangers and mash before heading back to their offices in Slough).

for years WABC deejay Dan Ingram mondegreened that first "tenement slum" at the beginning of "Love Child" as "hear mah song" -- he'd say it on the air and I bought into it. Guess he didn't think it was possible for a pop record to begin with the words "tenement slum" sung so sweetly.

Mark's dad (a minister) was nicknamed "Sky Pilot" back in the day.

back in the day we'd just moved to Falls Church VA, after my bros & I were all born in San Mateo.  We lived in a cottage on an acre+ of land, and the house had been added onto & modified in a rather slapdash fashion over the years.  Among several anomalies it had a basement that had been dug out years later, which could only be accessed from outside.  My dad decided that this would be a great place to let the church youthgroup set up their own coffee house (it was 1967 after all).  They decorated it themselves, which meant black lights & day-glo paints.  On the left hand (West) wall as you descended the steps was a life-size image of the Dead's Keep On Truckin' dude:

Facing you on the North wall was a floor-to-ceiling maze, with Saturn in the center, including a dead end that involved an actuall hole in the wall that was big enough to stick your thumb in, which had the notation "Here lies the body of Che."  On the right hand was a depiction of the cover of Led Zeppelins' first album:

and on the rear (South) wall was a similar floor-to-ceiling copy of Jefferson Airplane's After Bathing At Baxter's:

nope -- they've been playing them in Mon-thru-Fri order since Dave left (which makes me suspect he'd take Foghead requests re: "saving the best for last" and pass them on to management).

Just noticed this week (tho' I've heard "SF Girls" many times) this lovely sentiment:

"I know you love me girl
But you're just in my way"

Yeesh!

   6.  Aretha Franklin - I Say a Little Prayer

Ms. Warwick may have done it first, but Ree-Ree PWNED it.

I fell asleep, and dreamt Martha came home talking about hearing San Francisco Girls on the radio.  I awoke to realize the clock radio was off, and picked up in the last half of Fever Tree!
