Just for one day...
Love how this song gradually ramps up the tension. And the Spectoresque tambourine.
-
we're off, y'know, to a Klaatu 'trina.*
* - we need a term for the ONLY song Dave ever plays by an artist, 'cause this is the only Klaatu song he ever plays iirc.
-
BOS to Klaatu, "We're Off, You Know." Love that title.

There were two possibilities in the DB for 77 with Heroes TOTHKs. Luckily both were pretty good. This one's the more recent--October 6 of 2008.
VHM Klaatu's off, you know.
ETA: This could have just as easily been a Sweet side project.

I thought this was early Badfinger -- or more precisely, The Iveys -- when it started.
-
BOS to Klaatu, "We're Off, You Know." Love that title.
We're off (and your mother should know). No wonder folks thought they were the Beatles.
Lawd! she's a brick house! she's a cow she's a cow she's a cow now!

The Sound LA is doing 1970 : Beatles' (yay!) (We're Off, You Know) On Our Way Home

Just looked over there and saw Lay Down (Candles in the Rain) on their Now Playing thing. Hmmm. Very tempting.

VHM Jesse when he was good.

it sounds purty good! before Lay Down that was Layla. I supposed we can't expect Lay Lady Lay here.

would you like me (so) in(to) you?

Stat corner: When this set first aired, four of these songs were DB bustouts. The Fleetwood Mac tune was the first of those.

BOS H&O. It's a bitch, girl. Or as they say in the maternity ward at Harlem Hospital, "It's a girl, bitch!"
I still have this 45.
-
it's not the Doobs fault (line) that they sound like Santana on this one.

Gets my BOS vote--or one of 'em anyway. Doobies, not so much. The H&O was the second bustout--the other two coming up in the #8 and #9 slots.

The song title is in my least favorite font in the world. Anyone know what it's called? (I don't.)
-
JT's Steamroller chased me out of LA, albeit at a very slow speed.
So I'm back for some Doobies -- don't bogart that xylophone~!
-
BOS2 (and TANC) T-Heads. Here come a riddle, here come a clue.
-

Say what you will about this part of the 70s, there were more jazz artists crossing over around then than about any other period I can think of in my life. Chuck Mangione, Weather Report, George Benson, Jean Luc Ponty, and so forth. Not to mention rock bands moving the other way--see also Steely Dan, Doobies, etc.
And then there was the antithesis of that. BOS4 THeads.
-
WOOO! VVHM "Wonder Woman" theme!

Some great clips in this set--first the Chrysler commercial, now the toy ads are blowin' my mind.
-
BOS3 this CSN (then-)bustout.
-
This CSN tune is the last of the bustouts--but far from BOS-worthy.

I beg to differ, sir (just for rarity). I don't think it got much airplay even in '77

just for rarity, sure, but for listenability and drinkability, it makes me choke like a Duck makes a Shark choke. :-\
yes, I just went there!~ :)

I concur on the rarity factor, but it's just not doing it for me otherwise.
