I'd say it could go either way.

The contents of this one are anyone's guess as it's not in the DB. Goin' to A Go-Go is only in there once (to my utter shock), and it wasn't the TOTHK.

Do we spell Cooker with a K these days?  I didn't get the memo.

BOS for the Spinners.

I have a copy of this 45 (reissue) hanging in my cube at work!  Found it on the "free table."

I had the same reaction when we switched some years ago: "Top of the Hour Katrina? wha?" But apparently Dave specifically said once-upon-a-time that it was spelled "kooker"

I forget who or when it was decided to go with the "K", but it seemed like it was falling into common usage  around here so I just went with it (ignoring my copy-editing instincts).

I think Dave Himself once mentioned that "Kooker" was spelled w a "K".

btw, I wish Dave will "be there" soon.  :(

Young Michael J leans to spell, and imparts a history lesson to boot:

"Isaac said he kissed you
Beneath the apple tree
When Benjie held your hand he felt
E-lec-tri-ci-tee!
When Alexander called you
He said he rang your chimes.
Christopher discovered
You're way ahead of your times!"

I've learned to ignore that gaffe -- I still can't decide whether Dave's serious or if it's some private joke (making fun of someone else who once did it on Detroit radio when he was a kid).

I'd like to see this list in its current state.

And I love your pic of vintage Casey!  (BTW, a couple of weeks ago, in one of his rebroadcasts he was talking about Ray Stevens and mentioned "Ahab the Ay-rab" - I'd heard that he, being Lebanese and insulted, refused on principle to abide Ray's mispronunciation; guess he let up.)

Sorry I missed this set - stressful day (and week) at work, as our TIME 100 issue comes out next week (and our art designers don't know what the fuck they're doing; am I the only fucking person who knows how to keep a goddamn font consistent from page to page?).

Gonna just give everything a preemptive 10-way tie and sit back and enjoy the rest of the set.

I heard almost the whole set in the car, but missed the intro & the back-announce.  Did Dave say where all the documentary sounding stuff came from?

He didn't, but I recognized some of it from a vinyl box set I bought in the early 80s called The Motown Story--The First Decade (Vol. 1-5), which has short interview clips in between a number of songs. Not sure if that's where all of it came from, but I'm pretty sure some of what we heard is on there. (I'm guessing it had been out awhile when I got it, too.)

indeed, that's a famous box (and those interviews were used in a syndicated radio special as well). Dave's used that stuff numerous times in "Motortown" 10@10s.

Yes! Rachel M did that story last nite -- the uniform company screwed up and nobody on the team even noticed! It came to light when fans pointed it out. "maybe they thought the button-hole was the 'O'?" suggested Rachel.

a) it's "Capitols" with an "O"  -- these no-nothing interns must have a union!

b) I hate it when the Bonus track of a Motown set is not a Motown record.
