Cue the Bicentennial clips!
Singin' a song with EWF. Good start...
-
This one last ran as a classic in December of 06, originally aired January 28, 2004.
BOS ABBA I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do.
Oh, and we heard Steve Miller's Serenade and Dreamboat Annie from Heart in between the EWF and ABBA.
-
those saxy swedes should tone it down a bit. not one of my fave ABBA tunes

Second time in four days for that one, after it appeared on this weekend's Casey Countdown.
VHM to ELO, which I mostly missed due to yet another awkward and strained conversation with my brother (we're not close).
-
A big meh to BTO, Lookin' Out for Number One. Fake jazz, as our long-lost compatriot Rasztrelnikov would have undoubtedly said.
-
I was digging the fake-out jazz, esp after Leon Russell, whom I never really "get." He sounds drunk to me.
But Bowie's STAY -- now we're talking!

yes, I punish Stacy w the AT40 shows every weekend, and we both cringed and winced through this same old-timey ABBA sax-fest this past weekend, too.
-
OK, here's my overall BOS: Bowie's sublime Stay, with the snarling Strat of Earl Slick leading the charge. Love the groove on this one. Props to bassist George Davis, too.
-
BOS to Bowie's "Stay." Which sums up my feelings toward my current companion a little too well.
-
It's ALIIIVE! VHM Frampton, just because it takes me back with such immediacy. Also, very pleasant tune.
BOS, Bowie.
-
"Eye wan chew!" Peter Frampton explains.

CB, but you knew that.
I really really wanted a van when I was a teenager. Used to buy van mags (whither the van mag?), make plans, etc. Fortunately, muscle cars brought me to my senses.

That uncle wasn't "cool", he was "groovy." ;)

We all did--c'mon, a bed on wheels, what teenager with raging adolescent hormones wouldn't want one? Of course, then gas went up over a dollar a gallon and they became somewhat less practical. :)

As I said this weekend, it's the Greatest. Connie Francis. Single. she never recorded. So you either like that sorta thing or you don't.

oh yeah, you did mention that. I will seek it out. I can probably handle Connie over Agnetha, Frida, Bennie and Björn.
