The Best Year Ever (according to Dave, anyway)!

and today's Sixties Trifecta is complete (been a long time since we had one).

Rob started his '69 set with LZ, "GT,BT" too.  But "Wishful Sinful" is much-preferable to "Touch Me" IMHO.

ETA: those French Horns(?) sound lifted from a Moody Blues track.

Mike! The Who lifting from the Moodies?  Oy!
I believe John Entwistle played the French Horn.

Renews my faith in the KFOG staff.

fwiw, this set was already a classic when it first entered the Db in Aug 2006, and then was heard again in Aug 2007.

That struck me as particlarly diggable as well.

BOSes all around for tunes 1-4, but tune #5 is as big a Katrina as exists in 1969.  And then 5 more BOSes.

Kristina DeBarge (daughter of James, of the band) has a new single, "Goodbye," that lifts from the Steam tune.  I haven't heard it yet (fortunately).

Mike, do you remember the artist/title of the female answer record to this that's a carbon copy of the arrangement (and some of the lyrics)?

Forgive me for not buying "Here Comes the Sun" today; it's gray and chilly here, and I'm in a shitty mood.  (No Friday Funtime today, for those who follow my blog.)

Listening to the back announce and went "D'oh!"  Cow orker must have been distracting at just the right time.
