BTW, the Sound's 10@10 Message Board has censorship software (similar to what KFOG uses on its blog comments) that actually censored a guy who posted "LMAO!" -- I mean, WTF?

And they're also as predictable as Bob Shannon--we're three-for-three with Chicago now, aren't we?

Say it loud -- his name is Stroud (Bob Shannon's on CBS-FM and WLNG)
Wouldn't be hearin' F-F-F-Foolin on KFrOG.

You should try posting your "ROTFLMAOWTFLOL" or whatever it is, and see if it catches that.

lovley AM gold from Elvin Bishop and Mickey.
did you every note Elvin's guitar solo has a sort of flub (bad note) that he works with by playing it twice?
Play it once, it's a mistake. Play it twice, it's jazz.
FWIW, there are 2 All Fools sets in the KFOG Db, comprising the following songs:
Aretha Franklin - Chain Of Fools - x2
Beatles - Fool On The Hill - x2
Doobie Brothers - What A Fool Believes
Elvis Costello - Ship of Fools
Grateful Dead - Foolish Heart
Joe Jackson - Fools In Love
Led Zeppelin - Fool In The Rain - x2
Lulu - Oh Me, Oh My (I'm a Fool For You, Baby)
Main Ingredient - Everybody Plays The Fool - x2
Pete Townshend - Won't Get Fooled Again - x2 (not the Who version)
Rolling Stones - Fool To Cry
Sanford Clark - The Fool
Steely Dan - Only A Fool Would Say That
World Party - Ship Of Fools - x2
damn, glad I was wrong about the Lulu.
Whothehell is Sanford Clark??

Quick, how many Oscar noms did Sounder get?

Quick, how many Oscar noms did Sounder get?
no one bit, but this actually got nommed for Best Picture, Actor, Actress & Screenplay. If I'm not mistaken it remains the only film to ever get nominations for Leading Actor & Actress when both were black (Paul Winfield & Cicely Tyson).

actually Laurence Fishburne and Angela Basset were both nommed for What's Love Got to Do With It (tho' it wasn't a Best Pic contender). But in '72 there were 2 black actesses nominated -- Miss Ross for her turn as Billie Holliday was in there too, and I've always thought if she had not gotten a nod and siphoned off votes, Tyson would've won.(10 points if you know who did without looking)

Streisand in Love Story?
er... worst. april fool's. joke. evah.
Liz and Dick and Britt and Liza!, Jaclyn, Kate & Farrah.

Meg and Rodney, John Travolta, Governor Brown and Linda!
Personally, I think the fact that Cabaret came thisclose to upsetting Godfather for Best Pic was/is something of a scandal, considering Coppola's film is now considered maybe the greatest ever (depending where you rankCitizen Kane and G2). G won only 3 out of a possible 10, while C won 8 (!). A bit lopsided IMHO -- granted I haven't seen Cabaret in 30 years, while I watch G1 & G2 annually.

Okay, how about a 2-part Love Story related trivia: In Love Story, Ryan O'Neill plays a Harvard student, and the actor who made his film debut playing the roommate really did go to Harvard.
1.) This actor has gone on to a lengthy career, including multiple Oscar noms & 1 win, who is he?
2.) In real life, this actor's Harvard roommate went on to be even more famous than either he or Ryan O'Neill. Who was his roommate?

Did Kristofferson go to Harvard? I knew he was a Rhodes scholar, but not where he did his undergrad. Also, he's a graduate of San Mateo High, in my uncle's class--1953, iirc.

April Fool's! Nah, just kidding, just me being uninformed. I looked him up him wikipedia: he went to Pomona College.

Bet he's the *only* Rhodes scholar from Pomona College!

you're kidding, right? That's of the top 10 liberal arts colleges in the US. A HS friend went there (same class as my brother) and it was only marginally less competitive for him than it was for my brother to get into Stanford.

Son of a gun. I knew the answer and didn't realize I knew the answer until I looked. But since I did peek, I won't bust it.
