I was gonna say "er, again?" but it's been a month. BOS Bowie "Sound'n'Vision".
-
Blue, blue, electric BOS.

this does not appear in the Db as a TotHK, so I have no idea what we're in store for. But it's '73 in LA, and they're getting the obligatory Floyd tune out of the way early.

For a second there, I thought you *did* say "er, again?" Guess I was imagining it! ;)
BOS1 Bowie, diggin' the Sound & Vision.
-
Well, I'll be gah-damned. This set's not in the DB, so whatever we hear is going to be a surprise, just like olden days.
-
I love how S&V takes a good minute until Bowie's voice kicks in. Great production on this song.
-
BOS2 "Radio Sweetheart".

Can't imagine what I'd hear in '77 (save maybe for the Bowie) that would trump '73, so I'm headed south.
-
BOS2 OMD "You Know Like I Know" that '77's gonna be all right.

Nothing against 1977, but I'm sticking in LA as well, as I will hear this set for sure on Saturday morning & tune #3 down there right now is Basketball Jones!!!!

BOS2 from me as well. Such a relaxing, lilting recording.

Spealing of Joneses, Haley Jones never responded to me when i sent her a message thru Fabebook about an alternate streaming link. >:(

BOS3 Q, "Dancin' man". Southern-fried Pittsburgh!
-
BOS3 to "Black Cow." Listening to two Dan songs simultaneously, actually.

BOS4 Doctah Byoo-ZHARD! Misogyny at its most melodic.
-
this dead song is really wobbly
it's all Boing Boing~
-
Have to chime in: BOS Boz Skaggs -- Woh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh!!
-
Nice set all around, IMHO.

I might have to listen tonight instead of waiting until Saturday for the replay.

the 'wobbly' GD song comes perhaps from the 7/4 time signature, and the use of the MuTron envelope follower pedal Garcia uses (copied later by the New Bohemians)

BONUS TRACK: Marvin Gaye - Got to Give it Up
ARRGGHHH! Another great bonus track that the stream wasn't privy to. WTF?!?

Ha Ha, I heard that in my car too! I guess it pays to have to go somewhere at 11:00 all the time.
-
quite an exemplary set, now that I look at the list -- only the Foreigner and Boz Scaggs are what I'd call overexposed classic rock cuts. One of Dave's better '77 excursions.
-
Wonderful set. I heard it while out and about and will be here for the replay tonight.
I was on the board in spirit. I miss you guys! I will not have internet access during the day at all anymore unless it's my day off. Replays (which truly are replays now) will have to suffice for the time being.
-
Dropped back in for the replay as well, and am really digging hearing Black Cow. The epitome of smooth--just love the horn charts on this. Tom Scott iirc, and maybe Pete Christlieb? (We'll hear Scott again on the Dead tune in a couple minutes.)
Ali, sounds like things went well during your training, but drag that you won't have access during the day. Maybe they'll give you a BlackBerry eventually?

I enjoy this kind of gear/effect information. Thanks!

you're welcome. That makes me feel just a tad less than the usual treasure trove of useless information I feel like!

BOS3 to "Black Cow."

You're awful! :) Is that a before or after picture? Is that Jennifer Holliday or Star Jones? Or Martha Reeves?

glad someone finally noticed! Yes, that's a pre-diet, pre-married-to-a-gay-guy Star Jones.
