Nice--after the last two days 80s and 90s excursions, had to figure we were goin' 70s today.

And BOS to the Badfinger and Who songs so far. And more to come.

Fittingly, there's no competition from The Sound today, as they are doing Album Sides Wednesday.

I'll give BOS to "No Soup Left for You."  Was immensely popular on 3WS in Pittsburgh growing up, and then I probably did not hear it a single time in the '90s.

I hope "No Time" isn't an omen.  I'm supposed to have a 10:00 mtg, but one of the two co-workers hasn't shown up yet.  When he does I'll have to split.

BOS #3 for the Guess 'Oo.  All we need is some Yes & we'll have a comedy sketch on our hands!

BTW, the other nite The Bone screwed up and started Li'l Steven's show 2 mins early, so of course it ended at 10:40 and to get themselves back on track (so that Joel Selvin could start on time at 11pm) they played the full 17-minutes of "Inna Gadda Da Vida"!

hendrix said that when he died, he wanted peoipel to "Freak Out" -- funny how that phrase came to mean something dregoatory.  Remember when letting your freak flag fly was a good thing?  now it means you can't control yourself.

Speaking of Freaks: BOS to Peter's "Green Manalishi" -- not to be confused with Dr. Manahattan's Enormous Blue Penis.

Damn it. Got called away before the last 2 songs.  GBS woulda been my overall BOS.  But even 80% of a 1970 set is better than anything the past two days, here or in LA.

The new co-worker is rapidly turning into a cow-orker.  Well-meaning and friendly, but a little slow on the uptake & likes to have things explained multiple times.  Time consuming, but he is senior to me so I can't make a fuss.

Schnabel was the director. The actor is Mathieu Amalric. He was also the villain in the recent Bond flick and was in A Christmas Tale with Catherine Deneuve (which i highly recommend to the princess).

3/11/09 - Midweek!  A ten tune trip to...1970!!!

   1.  Buddy Miles - Them Changes (vinyl!)
   2.  Badfinger - Come and Get it (BEST OF SET!!)
   3.  The Who - Shakin' All Over
   4.  Guess Who - No Time
   5.  The Tee Set - My Belle Amie
   6.  Crow - Cottage Cheese (vinyl!)
   7.  Simon & Garfunkel - El Condor Pasa
   8.  Fleetwood Mac - The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)
   9.  George Baker Selection - Little Green Bag
 10.  CCR - Lookin' Out My Back Door

BONUS TRACK:  George Harrison - My Sweet Lord

Methinks this was our "old" year of the week; I'm guessing a late-'80s set tomorrow (tho' I'd love to be wrong) and presumably HFHs on Friday.

The actor is Mathieu Amalric. He was also the villain in the recent Bond flick and was in A Christmas Tale with Catherine Deneuve (which i highly recommend to the princess).

His character Louis was the contact that Avner (Eric Bana) used to get information from "The Family", which was headed by Michael Lonsdale, himself a former bond villain.  And for more James Bond connections, don't forget that Daniel Craig was on Avner's team - he was the South African Jew & only other team member to survive.  And then the female assassin in Munich was also in The Diving Bell & The Butterfly.  She knocked of Cieran Hinds' character, and he has become absolutley ubiquitous since then.  So lots of the cast of Munich have gone on to bigger & better things.  Except Eric Bana.

John Cho (Harold of Harold & Kumar fame) is Sulu
Karl Urban (Eomer in LotR, the Russian killer in Bourne Supremacy) is Bones
