Pat Benetar says "don't you mess around, no no no!"

Any bets we'll hear the Kings in this set?

it a all-nite thang, y'alls.  VHM a Dave fave (and national mid-charter) I'd never heard on NYC radio.

Best segue of set: Ronnie R. into One Trick Pony.

It'd be cool if Dave were back in the driver's seat in time for the inauguration next week.

Ditto the BOS for VH.

You can draw the line were you will, but 4 times in 60 sets is a lot closer to rare than otherwise.

and a Spoiler alert!

[Dave will back announce that cut as the vinyl track]

BOS Police, at the top of their powers.
This whole album reminds me of how much Sting needed the rest of the band.

Yes, but in this set, there are only two songs that have appeared more than 4 times in 1980 sets, and we just heard both of 'em: Eddie Money and Christopher Cross. All the rest have 4 appearances or fewer.

10-way BOS as far as I'm concerned, 1980 was a fun year for me (except the Lennon tragedy of course).  Have a good Monday, y'all!

The U2 song reminds me of...oh, I can't remember what it's called..."and if I wash my hands in your dirty water..." or something like that.  Ring a bell?

Searching turns up Rock and Hyde with "Dirty Water".  That's it all right.

The U2 song reminds me of...oh, I can't remember what it's called..."and if I wash my hands in your dirty water..." or something like that.  Ring a bell?

Searching turns up The Payolas with "Dirty Water".  That's it all right.

Rock & Hyde "Dirty Water.  And yes, I can hear the resemblance.

Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

I swear I've seen your face before
It's been inside my open door
I'm sure I played this game before
Pay a little bit now then later more

Angel, angel, ring them bells
Ring them bells
Something is wrong it doesn't belong
and it's not natural to sing that song

And if I wash my hands in your dirty water
Will your religion make me clean
Oh oh oh oh
And if I wet my feet in your dirty water
Will I be blind for all I see

A lover would be more concerned
When I needed you, your head was turned
Seems like you do what you can
To make me feel a guilty man

Angel, angel, ring them bells
Ring them bells
Something is wrong it doesn't belong
and it's not natural to sing that song

And if I wash my hands in your dirty water
Will your religion make me clean
Oh oh oh oh
And if I wet my feet in your dirty water
Will I be blind for all I see

Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

As long as we're playing "this song reminds me of..." I thought was struck by how much the Paul Simon tune sounded like the Dead's West LA Fadeaway (or vice versa). Of course, they're both pretty basic blues tunes, but I'm just sayin'.
