In LA, of complications from gall bladder surgery. He was 69.

Odd that the obit makes no mention of Delaney & Bonnie, even as it credits him with writing "Never Ending Song of Love".

totally weird indeed, as the first thing that goes through my mind is "Delaney and Bonnie!"
