Title: 19 Nov 2008: Dave's not here, man (a classic from 1986)
Post by: RGMike on November 19, 2008, 07:49:25 AM
They actually did a segment this morning about the email Dave sent Greg, saying he'd be out sick today.  He ended his email with "EOM" and neither Renee, Greg or Peter knew what that meant.  It was up to Fogheads (who for once were smarter than the airstaff) to tell them it means "End of Message". Sheesh.

A classic "from the '80s," she sez ... I think I'll find something else to do until I leave for work.

TOTHC had everyone wanging their chungs tonight. Now it's Nick talking about how he knew the bride. (And in what sense did you know her, Nick?)

Must be an older set--it's not in the DB.

I'm not listening (WLNG is treating me to Sergo Mendes' "Scarborough Fair"), but I'll wager the Blow Monkeys make an appearance.

What kind of sucker do you take me for? :) (And don't answer that.)

That said, no Blow Monkeys so far. Smiths (Panic), Sting (Russians), and a couple I'm spacing on. And I don't recognize the one that's on now ("kind words and a real good heart doesn't mean you get respect"??).

Here's my BOS--Eurythmics, Thorn in My Side.

Still no Blow Monkeys--maybe I shoulda taken that bet... ;)

Getting toward the end of the set with Psych Furballs, Pretty In Pink (the movie soundtrack version). There was a Call track back there somewhere too. I Still Believe?

Ah, there was an OMD track in there, and the one I quoted the lyrics of (Kind Words and a Real Good Heart) was Joan Armatrading. Which is a DB bustout.

Isn't that Joan Armatrading?

Wow, that's interesting. But other than that, sounds like standard-issue Morey '86. If South Park weren't doing a parody of Twilight tonight, I might've caught the replay.
