Yay! The Bicentennial Year!
We gotta have that Funk!
-
Tear the roof off, we gonna tear the roof of the mother, sucker. Tear the roof off the sucker!
BOS for my ringtone.
-
BOS that Parlia-Funkadelicment thang.

Actually I think this is rather timely:
Now if you're feelin' kinda low 'bout the dues you've been paying
Future's coming much too slow
And you wanna run but somehow you just keep on stayin'
Can't decide on which way to go
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I understand about indecision
But I don't care if I get behind
People livin' in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind.
Now you're climbin' to the top of the company ladder
Hope it doesn't take too long
Can'tcha you see there'll come a day when it won't matter
Come a day when you'll be gone
I understand about indecision
But I don't care if I get behind
People livin' in competition
And all I want is to have my peace of mind.
Take a look ahead, take a look ahead, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Now everybody's got advice they just keep on givin'
Doesn't mean too much to me
Lot's of people out to make-believe they're livin'
Can't decide who they should be.
I understand about indecision
But I don't care if I get behind
People livin' in competition
All I want is to have my peace of mind.
Take a look ahead, take a look ahead. Look ahead.

So all you undecided voters -- wake the f--k up!
Funny, for ages I thought "I don't care if I get behind" was "I don't care about get-me-high".

Rod groans and Britt moans.
-
WOS Rod.
I'm sorry, but anytime a guy over 30 advocates having sex with a "virgin child" it really creeps me out.
And then there's the completely backwards English. "Just let your inhibitions run wild." Sorry Rod, but even if we all agreed that we wanted you to have sex with the virgin child, the only way you're gonna pull it off is if she sublimates her inhibitions, not if she lets them run wild.

BOS2 Sweet Lou!

Now I loves me some "Reaper", but this is quite the overplayed-hits-fest so far.

BOC BOS!!!!
In my book this is the perfect, and I mean absolutely perfect AOR single.

BOS to BOC!

Not to mention key-tar!
I've seen BOC three times in the past five years at Slims. Yes, they are WELL beyond their arena rock god days, and Buck Dharma looks like an accountant, but he can still shred!
-
BOS ABBA!
-
BOS ABBA!
indeed! BOS3 for me -- the best Connie Francis record EVAH.

I saw them in 1978 as the 2nd of 5 billed acts (Styx headlined) and the keytar solo on "(DF)TR" Rawked! Really want to see them again, and was sad to have missed their recent Santa Cruz gig.

OK, we heard Maxine N the last time we did '76, no?

Okay, our glossary needs a term for images that become the equivalent of a Katrina...because Mike's Abba-In-Foil has surely set the standard for that!

I've seen them a couple of time -- once at the Cow Palace (I think) in the late 70's, early 80's. Nice lasers. And once as Soft White Underbelly at a small club through some window pane. Which was nice.

No -- nothing qualifies. This was one of Dave's least-consequential '76 sets ever. No, I'm not wearing the crankypants today, I'm quite serious. Nothing even remotely interesting, even if some of them were enjoyable. WTF? Dave's spending so much time listening to Kid Rock, it's warping his brain.

Well, '76 was kinda of a strange year musicwise, economywise, fashionwise, and politically. My HS graduation year, and we wuz Dazed and Confused!

yeah, have to agree. Enjoyable, but inconsequential. Won't be remembering this one much past Saturday morning.

Indeed. Whole set was fantastic. I was driving up to SF and missed last few tunes. Phoned in BOS for TOTHC.

Last night on Chelsea Lately, she made an outright statement about voting No on 8. Wake up everybody.

Bonus track quiz: Which of today's bands sometimes performed as Soft White Underbelly.
Bonus track: Bad Company, "Blue and Gold"
Go Bears?

nice pick (song is actually called "Silver Blue and Gold" -- or in your case, you may prefer "Silver and Black versus Blue and Gold." A little AFC West humor there fer ya.)
