I was going to pre-emptively WOS FYC before "The Look" had ended - but pleasant surprise that Dave went with "Don't Look Back" instead of the usual suspects.

yeah, I can actually give this a VHM instead.

"The Look" came up on MP3 in the car yesterday & my 8 yr old was totally digging it.

I'll give a BOS1 to Erasure and a BOS2 to Chris Isaak.

however, the crunchy granola taste of Edie and new Bohos isn't what I wanted for breakfast... blargh~!

I don't know why.  I don't understand.  How you sold me down the Katrina.

ETA:  imho, The Alarm had several great songs in the '83-'85 time frame, and considering Dave plays "SMDTR" & "Rain In The Summertime" absolutely to death, you'd think he might play some of their earlier stuff.

I just had a nagging suspicion about this Erasure...and I was right.  Album & single both were released & peaked in 1988.  Single hit #14.  I have a pretty clear memory of dancing to this at night clubs in San Diego that year, and by 1989 I was in Santa Barbara.

Indeed, I'd love to hear "68 Guns" (the best single the Clash never made).

"The Look" came up on MP3 in the car yesterday & my 8 yr old was totally digging it.

taste-a like-a wain-dwop!  I realize that in theory any song that combines a Monkees-esque intro with a shameless ripoff of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (which itself rips off "We Will Rock You") ought to qualify as a cheezetastic treat, but the "Look" has always been in the "annoyingly stupid" category for me.
