see my post the other day about how we've only had '60s 3 times since May.

It's kinda sad, since KFOG's core demo remains decidedly older, no matter how much Death Cab for Cutie they play. Yesterday Dave found this web site that shows you what song was #1 in your birth date, and Fogheads were calling in -- the VAST majority were folks born in the mid-1950s!  I'm sure the sales dept were freaking out.

VHM "All that Money Wants"

that lyric could be aimed at this set: "you just don't move me any more".

iirc, the last Grand Slam was also Bruce, no? Like, within the past 3 or 4 months?  Or maybe the Stones...

BOS3 Johnny Hates Jazz. This set is surprisingly good (so far) given the year.

One of my least favorite examples of sophistipop, I'm afraid.  Would rather be swinging out, sister.

If Dave would play SOS I'd plotz!  "Break Out" is one of the great pop singles of the decade.

wow, live U2 "Helter Skelter", also relatively rare.  BOS4, I'm surprised to find myself typing.

I saw U2 for $5 (!) back then, at Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ.  Still have the ticket stub to prove it.

I was skeptical about the year o the spin but Helter Skelter works.

Take a drink every time Bono fucks up the lyric, though, and you'll be buzzed by the time Larry Mullen has blisters on his fingers.

I'm surprised too, 'cause this remake doesn't do anything for me.  Especially the way he delays saying "slide".  And what's with him saying "you ain't no lover but you ain't no dancer."  Does he know the words?

It's (a) a rarity thang, and (b) the more I hear Coldplay, the more I appreciate Bono, mondegreened lyrics or no.

Least Necessary: "Sister Madly". But Dave's done an admirably non-Katrinish job in a usually "meh" year.

Spoke too soon: TTD "Wishing", but I'm not well. So many OTHER great tracks on this LP.

They were floating the Quayle rumor earlier this summer.  Glad he's not involved, not that I've ever watched DWTS.  But when Omar Vizquel finally does the show (which he insists we will someday), I'm totally there.
