Dave just spilled the beans at 9:15. I predict the Staples' "Heavy Makes You Happy" makes an appearance (possibly as TOTHK).
Sadly, my doctor's appointment is at 10:15, so I'll have to wait until tonite to hear it.
-
Sorry you'll miss it in real time. My predictions:
1. Crusaders, "Put It Where You Want It"
2. Chi-Lites, "Oh Girl"
3. (and this would be the wild card of the week) Dramatics, either "In the Rain" or "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get"
-
Nassau's gone funky! Big ol' BOS to miniskirts, maxiskirts, afro hair-dos and the Beginning of the End.
-
A set like this is implicitly a candidate for 10-way-tie territory; Freda Payne's ode to erectile dysfunction bodes well.
-
"What choo gon' play now?!"
"Bobby, I dunno. But whas'EVAH I play, it GOTS ta be FONKY."
-
Ooh! A "l-o-o-o-n-n-g" version of Little Sister's "You're the One" that's new to me. Dave, you have truly brightened my Monday.
-
Yowwww, git down wit yo' bad self!
Diggin' this set, bro'!
-
Oh Girl, as predicted, Gaz!

More erectile dysfunction! His love will surely grow - as soon as the pill kicks in.

Lil' Stevie I'm Wonderin'
Biggest surprise of set. Doesn't this date back to '66 or '67?

LAWD! this one "went to eleven"!
8/18/08 – Monday! Today on 10@10…Early ‘70’s Soul Patrol!!
1. Beginning of the End – Funky Nassau
2. Freda Payne – Band of Gold
3. James Brown – Make it Funky
4. Little Sister – You’re the One
5. 8th Day – She’s Not Just Another Woman
6. Aretha Franklin – Day Dreaming (BEST OF SET!!)
7. The Chi-Lites – Hey Girl
8. Spinners – It’s a Shame (BEST OF SET!!)
9. Chairmen of the Board – Give Me Just a Little More Time
10. Stevie Wonder – I’m Wonderin’
11. Gladys Knight & the Pips – Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)
BONUS TRACK: Marvin Gaye – Let’s Get it On
Nothing Dave hasn't played before, but a treat nonetheless. Note the intern error on the Chi-Lites tune. My BOS woulda been 8th Day; wish Dave'd play their other hit, "You've Got To Crawl (Before You Can Walk)"
And if you're near radio or 'net, Judge's '70s Motown salute on KPOO is shaping up to be mind-blowingly Fab. Yoo. Luss. Obscure post-Diana Supes: "Your Wonderful Sweet Sweet Love", followed by the much bigger "Nathan Jones".

Note the intern error on the Chi-Lites tune.
Maybe the intern was anticipating the Tempts on Judge! (See Capital Gold thread.)

my two bits: if there's an error on the KFOG list, we should just change it, and not immortalize the intern's screwups.

Spoken like a true copy editor! :) (or a fan/friend of copy editor types)
I would normally say Yes, it should be fixed, but I just heard the 10 pm replay, and DM himself called it "Hey Girl." Do we dare correct Dave?? Let's draw straws...

Darn, I missed a good set. And, you know Dave does not always take correction well.
