OK, this made it worth it: Easy BOS to "Fisherman's Blues," which I appreciate with a winsome sigh.

Parker Frost says "go fuck yourselves" and who cares 'cause you'll never hear from me again anyhow. Amelia Ray and I are here in Madrid and American music can count us as two more losses.

VHM from me, same vote to Bonnie's "Nick of Time," which I liked a lot better than the hit "Have a Heart" that re-established her on AC radio.

For a time at the Steve Miller at Fillmore show earlier this year, I stood about ten feet from Bonnie Riatt.  Boy, her hair is really red in person. Later she jammed on stage.

OMGWTFLOL!!! BOS4 the late great Kirsty MacColl, covering the Kinks. MAJOR bustout, hurrah!

ETA: as '89 sets go, this coulda been much worse, and the Kirsty really was the nicest surprise of the week.

In my past life, I was working closely with the Dead at this time.  Garcia's guitar tone (MuTron) was a response to the New Bohemiams song which was derivative of Garcia's earlier work with the MuTron (Shakedown Street, etc.)
