Title: 1 Aug 2008: it's... (yuck) 1988

1988 -- can't tell if this is a classic or newly-recorded. But "Sister Madly" is system-matically a Katrina either way.

per a little Googling, Dave's reference to Burlingame High's 20-year reunion is current (it's tomorrow night). so this was recorded especially for today.  But 'trinas are still 'trinas -- INXS too.

WOS (surprise!) Crapton.

OK, it's clear at this point that Dave is being told to do more late-'80s/early'90s years and less everything-else. If we're going to be subjected to these years, he sure-as-hell needs to expand his library beyond his very limited katrina comfort zone.

VHM Icehouse, "Electric Blue", but really, this set is spinning its wheels.

Didn't Ginger play REM's "Gardening at Night" recently?  BOS anyway.

"Can I hear that again?"  I love it when Dave does that.

BOS to "Nothing but Flowers," one of the Heads' last great gasps.

BOS2 "Nothing But 'Trinas".  Stand by for TTD's "Wishing Well", I fear.  What I wouldn't give for Rick Astley or Kylie Minogue or Samantha Fox.

Nice to hear "Rain in the Summertime," but a nonsensical segue out of the intro of the National Guard's Dan Quayle.

No rain in the summertime here, Dave. VHM Alarm, or "U3" as we used to call 'em.

ooh, Quayle sounds like the biggest tool in that clip.  I hope we hear one of the all-time clips: Lloyd Bentsen smacking down DQ "You're no Jack Kennedy".

Oh yeah, Bush still won.  crap.

Not every segue has to mean something.  ;)

Jeezus H Morey -- I could go several years without hearing "Under the Milky Way" again.  Another thoroughly uninspired '88 visit.  The future does not bode well, folks.

Just a quick note that I met up with mshray at today's morning show broadcast in Walnut Creek.  Nice crowd, nice weather, nice show. Unfortunately in the photo that Morey took of the crowd, now on the KFOG Morning Show page, at the table behind the 3 ladies in black upfront, you can barely see mshray in his red fleece top and I was obviously away from my chair at that moment, either off to the left waiting to ask Romanowski a question on air, or inside getting more coffee. See http://www.kfog.com/morningshow (http://www.kfog.com/morningshow)
However, later Mark and I each got a pic with Morey, while he was trying to have a cig out back by the dumpster, and I got a pic with Romo. We'll try to get those posted for y'all.  A good time was had by all!

Great to hear!  And I adore your latest avatar - that corner's got legs, and knows how to use 'em!
