Title: 7/23/08: Dave's Not Here, Man: a "classic" from 1977
Post by: RGMike on July 23, 2008, 09:37:54 AM
And I'm home sick too -- looks like I didn't miss much, what with '80s & '90s in the other zones.

ETA: actually, Rob's set looked real good -- "Hitsville UK" always roolz!

Hope you feel better. I've been fighting a cold, congestion, itchy ears, sore throat. Getting better day by day. No job to call in sick to!  ;D

What is this song?  Reminds me of Steely Dan's "Glamour Profession".  I have a feeling I made this same comment last time...It's deja vu all over again.

Anyone remember the comic strip Pogo, by the late great Walt Kelly?  And the turtle Churchy LaFemme?

BOS4 Graham Parker covering the Trammps.  As classics go, this one was worthy of the category.

I was thinking this was pretty good blue-eyed soul.  Didn't know it was a Trammps tune.
